Haunted Mansion Themed “Potions” Are A Hit

Inside the new Haunted Mansion Parlor are special sodas referred to as Madame Leota's special Spell Potions, which have been a big hit with guests. These are non-alcoholic drinks onboard that allow for all guests to enjoy a drink at the Haunted Mansion bar.

The potions are called: Creepy Crawly Cola, Screaming Soda, Grim Grinning Grape and Sour Shivers. Grim Grinning Grape is my favorite name since it's a fun callout to the Grim Grinning Ghosts songs from the attraction.

Guests on the Disney Treasure have been loving these fun Madame Leota inspired potions and have put in requests for special gift boxes to take home with them. I would love to see these themed sodas come to the theme parks especially since they have been so popular! These would fit right in at New Orleans Square at Disneyland especially in the new Haunted Mansion store.

We didn't know who made sodas until now.

The Potions Cauldron's History As A “Magical” Apothecary

The Potions Cauldron's story started out at Shambles in York which has been called by Visit England as the “Real Diagon Alley” making this a popular destination for many Harry Potter fans. This shop has historically been a place for potion makers since the 14th century, located at 9¾ Shambles York, with a history dating back to 1335 including a “secret” potions room. The shop offers interactive potion-making experiences making it more like an attraction than just a soda shop!

The business opened in 2017 as The Potions Cauldron in the same location as a themed potion shop showcasing the fun lore of the magical apothecary. This little business has expanded into other locations including Chester and Dalton Park, two UK regional theme parks.

Now this business has grown even more with their partnership with Disney Cruise Line.

Ben Fry, Chief Enchantment Officer and Co-Founder, said: “Working with Disney Cruise Line on developing these drinks alongside Compass Supply Solutions has been a real highlight of our magical journey and this partnership is something we are very proud of.”

Phil Pinder, Director of Wizardry and Co-Founder said: “2024 has been a significant year for The Potions Cauldron Group with new attraction openings in York, Chester and Dalton Park and the Disney partnership is the perfect way to round off a magical year of growth.”
