Universal Studios Hollywood Releases 2025 Calendar- Teases SURPRISE Event

Just like Disneyland released its full 2025 calendar of events to prepare for the upcoming year, Universal Studios Hollywood also released theirs so guests can start planning their trips!

The calendar highlights days for annual passholders along with revealing some dates for popular ticketed events but also teases a brand new event for summer 2025.

Let's get into the full calendar released by Universal Studios Hollywood for 2025 including our speculation on this new mystery event coming next summer.

Butterbeer Season

Butterbeer Season takes place March 1, 2025 through May 31, 2025. This new event will allow guests to enjoy butterbeer in “all new ways” for the first time at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. There will be new treats, including a Butterbeer popsicle and Butterbeer caramels, made available.

This is a fun spring event but seems to be mainly focused on food items but considering the popularity of Butterbeer I can see it being successful.

Universal Fan Fest Nights

Universal Fan Fest Nights takes place select nights April 25, 2025 through May 18, 2025. This separately ticketed event is a brand new after hours event. This immersive and interactive after hours experience will feature fan favorite genres like sci-fi, fantasy, gaming and anime. Themes announced so far include Star Trek, Dungeons & Dragons, and Back to the Future.

I am looking forward to this event more than any other next year! It is great to see Universal Studios Hollywood step into the after hours events especially considering the popularity of these over at Disneyland with their Disneyland After Dark spring events.

New Summer Event

The calendar teases a “new summer event” that will take place June 14, 2025 through August 10, 2025. No other details have been revealed so far so I imagine more information will be coming in the spring. It's hard to say what this event will be! Since we already have two events this year focusing primarily on the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, with Back to Hogwarts overlapping slightly, I imagine it will not be Harry Potter themed.

Could it be something to begin building hype for the Fast and Furious Rollercoaster opening in 2026? You never know!

Back to Hogwarts

Back to Hogwarts will run August 1, 2025 through September 1, 2025 and celebrate the start of the academic year: Hogwarts style! Special “Back to Hogwarts” school bundles will be available for purchase including backpacks and plushes. There will be seasonally food items as well to celebrate the start of the Hogwarts school year.

This seems to be a bit lackluster at the moment but I imagine we will get new details soon, perhaps a new show on Hogwarts Castle will be a part of this celebration?

Halloween Horror Nights

The date range for Halloween Horror Nights has been released with the event taking place on select nights September 4, 2025 through November 2, 2025. This is easily the best ticketed event of the year at Universal Studios Hollywood with high quality haunted houses, immersive scare zones, and more.

This event is a no brainer if you love Halloween and horror, truly one of the best theme park events I've ever experienced.

Holidays at Universal

The holiday season for Universal Studios Hollywood includes a Grinch celebration plus themed entertainment in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and will run November through December in 2025.

The holidays at Universal Studios Hollywood are a great time especially with the fun focus on the Grinch whom continues to grow in popularity as a character interaction each year.

Seasonal Fireworks

Universal Studios Hollywood acknowledges the 4th of July and New Years Eve with a fireworks show and entertainment in the park. The New Years Eve event especially is a must see since it extends far past normal park closing hours.

Universal Pass Member Events

The calendar also includes a full lineup of events just for Annual Pass Members such as:

• Pass Member Bonus Benefits- February 1, 2025 through March 20, 2025
• Pass Member Collectible Giveaway- May 1-31 2025 and November 1-30 2025
• Pass Member Park Takeover- June
• Pass Member Appreciation Days- August 15, 2025 through September 30, 2025
• Pass Member Holiday Park Takeover- December
