Rider Heights at Universal Studios Hollywood
There are three categories that riders can fit into when it comes to height requirements at Universal Studios Hollywood. Riders either meet the height requirement, meet the height requirement to ride with a Supervising Companion, or do not meet the height requirement for the ride.
- Meets the Height Requirement – Riders that meet the height requirement (or are taller) are able to go on the ride by themselves and do not need to be accompanied by anyone else.
- May Ride with a Supervising Companion – Some rides offer a second option for shorter riders. With this option, there is a second height requirement in place. Riders who do not meet the initial height requirement, but meet the second one, are able to get on the ride with a Supervising Companion. A Supervising Companion must be someone who is 14 years or older and is tall enough to mee the initial height requirement for the ride.
- Does Not Meet the Height Requirement – If a rider does not meet the height requirement they are not permitted to ride. If the attraction offers a secondary height requirement, and the rider does not meet that one either, they are still not permitted to ride. Even if they have a Supervising Companion available, they will not be permitted to ride if they do not meet the minimum height requirement.
Rider Switch Program at Universal Studios Hollywood
If you have a rider that does not meet the minimum height requirement for a ride, that does NOT mean that anyone else in your party has to miss out on the attraction. Universal Studios Hollywood has a rider switch program in place in order to give everyone in your party, who meets the height requirement, a chance to ride the ride.
In order to utilize this program, your party will need to split up. One adult will sit out with the rider(s) that do not meet the ride's height requirement. During this time, the other riders will go and enjoy the attraction. Once they are finished, you will simply switch places. Those who already rode will then sit out with the one(s) who do not meet the height requirement and the adult who first sat out can then enjoy the attraction. Super Nintendo World Height Requirements
Super Nintendo World is the newest land at Universal Studios Hollywood. As you go through the green Warp Pipe entrance, you'll soon be transported to the Mushroom Kingdom and become part of the classic game world of Super Mario. With interactive games, an attraction, character meet and greets, themed eats, and shopping, Super Nintendo World creates a way for us to experience Super Mario in a way that we never have before!
There is one ride in Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood. This ride is Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge. You'll be able to take the wheel as you race along a Mario Kart course with Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach. Beat Team Bowser as you collect coins, throw shells, and try to win the Golden Cup.

There are two rides at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Flight of the Hippogriff and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Flight of the Hippogriff is a family friendly rollercoaster where Hagrid teaches you how to fly a Hippogriff, a magical creature that is half horse and half eagle. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is an adventurous ride where you'll face obstacles and dangers throughout the grounds of Hogwarts. Jurassic World Height Requirements
Experience science and nature coming together in this prehistoric land. Jurassic World is full of the fascinating, yet dangerous, animals that we've all seen in the films. Come face to face with Blue, the raptor, at the Raptor Encounter. You may even be able to meet a baby raptor! The little ones will have a chance to let some energy out, have fun, and explore in the playground area, DinoPlay. You'll also have another chance to come face to face with more dinosaurs on the daring boat ride: Jurassic World – The Ride.
On Jurassic World – The Ride, you'll see prehistoric greats like the water giant, the Mosasaurus. You'll even see the sweet welcoming of a baby Stegosaurus. But you'll soon find yourself in danger when the Indominus Rex gets loose. You'll end up in the middle of a battle between the Indominus Rex and T-Rex. Will you be able to make your way out to safety?
Jurassic World – The Ride – Height Requirement: 42″ tall
- Riders who are between 42″ and 48″ must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion (who is at least 14 years old)
Minion Land Height Requirements
Expect nothing less than cooky chaos when you step foot into Minion Land. Here, the Minions are on the loose and mayhem is sure to follow. At this land, you'll find three attractions as well as a carnival themed area. One of these attractions is based off of the movie, The Secret Life of Pets. Of course those pets only add to the madness of this area!
While there are three rides in total in this land, only two of them have height requirements: Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash. While you're on Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, you'll not only see the Minions, you'll become one! Your adventure starts in Gru's home and then you're soon transformed into a Minion and are involved in his latest scheme. The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash is a family friendly dark ride. You, yourself, will become a pet and go on an adventure through the streets of New York City on your way to your new home! Max, Duke, Gidget and Snowball will be right there with you throughout your journey.
Despicable Me Minion Mayhem – Height Requirement: 40″ tall
- Riders who are between 40″ and 48″ must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion (who is at least 14 years old)
The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash – Height Requirement: 34″ tall

Transformers Metrobase Height Requirements
At Transformers Metrobase, you'll come face to face with Transformers, join them on a daring adventure, and have the opportunity to shop and dine in this mechanical land. You may sight Megatron while you're here, but no need to worry! Optimus Prime and Bumblebee will be nearby and ready to keep things under control. There is one ride in this land: Transformers: The Ride 3D.
On this ride, you'll join the Autobots in a battle against Megatron and the Decepticons. Their mission is simple: to rule Earth. Your job on this action packed adventure is to keep the AllSpark out of their hands!

- Riders who are between 40″ and 48″ must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion (who is at least 14 years old)
Springfield Universal Studios Hollywood Height Requirements
Enter the world of The Simpsons when you come to Springfield. All of the classics are here and available for you to experience! The dining does not shy away at all from the theming. You can go to and eat a Krusty Burger, drink a Duff Beer at Moe's Tavern, and enjoy one of Homer's favorite donuts from Lard Lad. Shop the Kwik-E-Mart and grab all of your essentials. You can even go on a roller coaster adventure when you go on the one ride in the land: The Simpsons Ride.
When you go on The Simpsons Ride, you'll be going on a trip to Krustyland. You'll make your way through the town with Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie on this motion-simulated rollercoaster ride.

Revenge of the Mummy Height Requirement
Revenge of the Mummy – The Ride, is a fast-paced thrill ride. An ancient curse is broken and you are left trying to escape from the mummy Imhotep. In the dark, as you're dodging evil spirits, you'll experience high speeds, backwards motion, drops, fire, sharp turns, and to top it all off… scarab beetles. Will you be able to make it out?

There is not a specific height that you need to be for Universal Studios Hollywood. Many of the rides and attractions have no height requirement at all. Yes, Universal Studios is good for 11 year olds. An 11 year old should be able to enjoy almost all of the rides and attractions at Universal Studios (depending on their height).
