However, the details behind the different types of Universal Orlando annual passes can get a bit tricky. As frequent visitors of the Orlando theme parks, we’ve done our research into the different annual pass options when it comes to Universal Orlando. This is your all-in-one guide to purchasing a Universal Orlando annual pass so that you can have an easier time planning your next trip!

Benefits of Having a Universal Orlando Annual Pass

Universal Orlando Annual Pass

One of the most obvious reasons to purchase a Universal Orlando annual pass is to be able to visit the theme parks multiple times during the year without purchasing separate date-based tickets. All Universal Orlando annual passes include park-to-park admission, meaning you can visit both Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure in one day. The benefits don’t stop there, though.

All passholders receive the following benefits:

  • Discounts on ticketed events and other event perks, including Rock the Universe and Halloween Horror Nights
  • Up to 30% discounts on room rates at on-site Universal Orlando hotels
  • Up to 15% off of multi-day theme park admission tickets at the front gate
  • 10% off all VIP Experiences
  • Up to 30% off base rates at Budget and Avis rental car centers, and
  • Access to the UOAP Lounge

At the UOAP Lounge, you can relax, manage your Passholder account, shop exclusive UOAP merch, and cool off with refreshing Coca-Cola beverages. The UOAP Lounge is located in Toon Lagoon at Universal Islands of Adventure and is open from 11am-4pm.

Passholders also get access to Passholder Appreciation Days, which are a scheduled stretch of days to when passholders have access to perks, discounts, and exclusive opportunities. Passholders also receive annual pass benefits on specific dates throughout the year.

Finally, passholders get discounts at Universal CityWalk. All passholders get a 15% discount on all private and non-private experience ticket types at Universal’s Great Movie Escape. They also get $3 off admission to showings after 6pm at Universal Cinemark for themselves and up to one guest.

Talk about a chalk-full of benefits, and this is just the baseline benefits for all the annual passes!

Types of Annual Passes

Universal Orlando Annual Pass

Universal Orlando offers 4 types of annual passes to guests. As you can imagine, each annual pass has its own perks, leading to its different price value. Let’s go over each type of pass, their price ranges, and the benefits associated with each annual pass.

Seasonal Pass

Universal Orlando Annual Pass

The cheapest annual pass of the 4 offered by Universal Orlando, the Seasonal Pass offers 2 options. The 2-Park Seasonal Pass is $424.99 (without tax) and allows you to enter either Universal Studios Florida or Universal Islands of Adventure. The 3-Park Seasonal Pass is $524.99 (without tax) and allows you to enter either Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, or Volcano Bay.

This pass comes with the most number of blackout dates, or dates that you are not able to use your annual pass to enter the Universal Orlando theme parks. Below is a list of blackout dates for 2024 and 2025.

  • Universal Studios Florida
    • March 18-April 6, 2024
    • July 1-31, 2024
    • Nov 25-30, 2024
    • Dec 21-31, 2024

Power Pass

Universal Orlando Annual Pass

The next financially-friendly annual pass offered by Universal Orlando is the Power Pass. Like the Seasonal Pass, the Power pass comes in 2 options. The 2-Park Power Pass is $474.99 (without tax) and allows you to enter either Universal Studios Florida or Universal Islands of Adventure. The 3-Park Power Pass is $584.99 (without tax) and allows you to enter either Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, or Volcano Bay.

Unlike the Seasonal pass, the Power Pass offers less blockout dates and a few more benefits. For example, the Power Pass offers 50% off regular daytime self-parking after your first visit. It also includes admission to select special events such as Mardi Gras.

This pass comes with the second most number of blackout dates, or dates that you are not able to use your annual pass to enter the Universal Orlando theme parks. Below is a list of blackout dates for 2024 and 2025.

  • Universal Studios Florida
    • March 18-30, 2024
    • Dec 21-31, 2024
    • Jan 1-5, 2025
    • April 7-19, 2025
  • Universal Islands of Adventure
    • March 18-30, 2024
    • Dec 21-31, 2024
    • Jan 1-5, 2025
    • April 7-19, 2025
  • Universal Volcano Bay (via 3-Park Power Annual Pass)
    • June 8-Aug 11, 2024 (blockouts apply before 4:00pm)

Note that this pass cannot be used during Christmas time, Easter, or most of the summer season. Power Pass passholders are also blocked out of Universal Studios Florida on concert dates only until 5pm if there is a concert on a blockout date. According to Universal Orlando, these concert dates are subject to change.

Preferred Annual Pass

The second most expensive annual pass is the Preferred Annual Pass. Like the previous annual passes, the Preferred Annual Pass comes in 2 options. The 2-Park Preferred Pass is $629.99 (without tax) and allows you to enter either Universal Studios Florida or Universal Islands of Adventure. The 3-Park Preferred Pass is $739.99 (without tax) and allows you to enter either Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, or Volcano Bay.

Like the Power Pass, the Preferred Annual Pass includes to admission to select special events like Mardis Gras. However, the Preferred Annual Pass also offers free self-parking as well as discounts on food, merchandise, and specialty items in the theme parks and at Universal CityWalk.

One of the major differences between the Preferred Annual Pass and the previous two Universal Orlando annual passes is that the Preferred Annual Pass does not have any blackout dates for regular admission to the two main theme parks. However, the 3-Park Preferred Annual Pass is blocked out of Universal Volcano Bay on select dates. For 2024, these dates are July 1 and August 11.

Additionally, the Preferred Annual Pass offers Early Park Admission to Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure up to 1-hour before park open on select days and select attractions. The 3-Park Preferred Annual Pass also offers Early Park Admission to Universal Volcano Bay up to 1-hour before park open on select dates and select attractions.

Premier Annual Pass

Universal Orlando Annual Pass

The most expensive annual pass is the Premier Annual Pass. Like the previous annual passes, the Premier Annual Pass comes in 2 options. The 2-Park Premier Pass is $904.99 (without tax) and allows you to enter either Universal Studios Florida or Universal Islands of Adventure. The 3-Park Seasonal Pass is $1094.99 (without tax) and allows you to enter either Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, or Volcano Bay.

While this pass is the most expensive, it also comes with the most benefits. Like the Preferred Annual Pass, the Premier Annual Pass includes admission to select special events like Mardis Gras as well as discounts on food, merchandise, and specialty items in the theme parks and at Universal CityWalk. The full list of discounts for the Premier Annual Pass is quite extensive!

Additionally, the Premier Annual Pass offers free valet and self-parking after your first visit. It also offers one free ticket to Halloween Horror Nights on select nights and free Universal CityWalk Club access.

Two of the biggest benefits of the Premier Annual Pass are no blackout dates for regular admission as well as Early Park Admission without blackout dates to Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure. However, Premier Annual Passholders are blocked out from Universal Volcano Bay on select dates.

FlexPay Payment Option

There are 2 main ways to pay for a seasonal or annual pass if you choose to purchase one. For the Power Pass, the Preferred Annual Pass, and the Premier Annual Pass, the FlexPay option allows you to spread out your Annual or Seasonal Pass payments over 11 months after an initial down payment. The Seasonal Pass does not offer a FlexPay payment option and must be paid in full at the time of purchase. Below is a breakdown of the down payments and monthly payments for each pass:

  • Power Pass: Down payment of $311.51 (tax inclusive) and 11 monthly payments of $28.32 (0% APR)
  • Preferred Pass: Down payment of $394.05 (tax inclusive) and 11 monthly payments of $35.83 (0% APR)
  • Premier Pass: Down payment of $583.09 (tax inclusive) and 11 monthly payments of $53.01 (0% APR)

Is an Annual Pass Right for me?

Citywalk Entrance

Doing some quick maths, purchasing the 2-Park Seasonal Pass would require you to visit Universal Orlando just 2 times in the year to “break even” on the price of the most expensive 1-day ticket. In contrast, purchasing a 2-Park Premier Annual Pass would require you to visit Universal Orlando 4 times in the year to “break even” on the price of the most expensive 1-day ticket.

If any of these numbers seem realistic to you, then a Universal Orlando Annual Pass may be a more financially savvy move. Remember, this only accounts for Universal Orlando 1-day tickets – tickets for additional theme parks may be more expensive and thus will make the maths more complicated! On top of that, having a Universal Orlando Annual Pass may allow you certain benefits such as complimentary parking, discounts on food and merchandise, and discounts on certain experiences.

Does Universal have yearly passes?

Universal Orlando does have yearly passes, including 4 tiers of annual passes with 2-Park and 3-Park options. Depending on the annual pass, you may receive certain discounts and have a certain number of blockout dates, affecting the price you pay for each individual annual pass.

Can I upgrade my Universal ticket to an annual pass?

You are able to upgrade your Universal ticket to an annual pass only during the time your admission is still valid. The cost of your Universal ticket will go towards the payment of the annual pass of equal or greater value, and the remaining balance must be paid in full when upgrading.

Do Universal Annual Passes automatically renew?

When signed up with the FlexPay payment option, your Universal Annual Pass renews automatically at the current retail price on a month-to-month basis. However, if you paid in full, your Annual Pass does not renew automatically. Instead, you get 20% off your renewal fee when paying in full.
