Tiana's Bayou Adventure will be opening June 28th 2024 at Walt Disney World.

The opening of Tiana's Bayou Adventure joins the lineup of other exciting events at Walt Disney World this summer including the brand new Encanto show debuting at EPCOT and the opening of the new CommuiCore Plaza & Hall.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure Included in Genie+

The most surprising news is that Tiana's Bayou Adventure will be INCLUDED as part of the regular Disney Genie+ lineup of available attractions and NOT as an Individual Lightning Lane.

This is an interesting approach as Disney usually uses a virtual queue along with paid Individual Lightning Lane Access for all their new attractions. This is wonderful news and adds a great value to the Genie+ service!

I do anticipate Genie+ reservations will go fast for Tiana's Bayou Adventure so this is when being a Walt Disney World hotel guests has its advantages since on-site guests can make their first reservation as early as 7AM. I am sure the demand for Tiana's Bayou Adventure will easily outpace what we saw for TRON or Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

Guests will be excited to experience this new ride retheme so plan ahead so you do not miss out!

Disney Genie+ also includes digital downloads of PhotoPass attraction photos which should include the attraction photo of Tiana's Bayou Adventure which has been revealed (see above) for the first time!

Tiana's Bayou Adventure Will Utilize a Virtual Queue

Like all new attractions at Walt Disney World, Tiana's Bayou Adventure is going to utilize a virtual queue system when it first opens to help control demand for this new ride in Magic Kingdom. Both TRON and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind utilize virtual queues at Walt Disney World.

The surprising news about the standby queue is that Disney does not plan on using a virtual queue for long. Disney confirmed that, “While a standby queue will not be available during the attraction’s initial opening days, we expect to open a standby queue soon after the attraction’s opening.”

This is positive news for fans that often feel weary about the complicated approach to new Walt Disney World attractions. This also confirms that TRON will continue to use a virtual queue for the foreseeable future.

How to Use the Virtual Queue for Tiana's Bayou Adventure

Tiana's Bayou Adventure's virtual queue is accessible through your cellphone on the My Experience App. You have two chances to access the Tiana's Bayou Adventure virtual queue for a boarding group on a normal operating day at Magic Kingdom.

  • Starting at 7AM, guests can access a boarding group via the My Disney Experience App. Guests can access this virtual queue from their hotel room.
  • Starting at 1PM, there will be another opportunity to join the virtual queue for those that didn't get a chance to access the boarding group at 7AM. Guests must be inside Magic Kingdom to access the 1PM virtual queue.

Guests will only be able to access Tiana's Bayou Adventure once per day using the virtual queue. But if you purchase Genie+ then you could ride twice in one day if you are successful at getting a boarding group and making a ride reservation using Genie.

What about TRON?

TRON at night

TRON Lightcycle / Run will continue to also use a virtual queue at the same time as Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

Guests can only hold one attraction virtual queue at a time. Once the attraction virtual queue is redeemed, guests can join another attraction virtual queue, if available. So you could potentially join the virtual queue for Tiana's Bayou Adventure at 7AM and then try for TON at 1PM as long as you've redeemed your virtual queue boarding group for Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

TRON will also remain available for Individual Lightning Lane purchase as well.
