The weekend of D23 is underway, and we are reporting from the event with news of some big Disney announcements from tonight's Disney Entertainment Showcase.
At tonight's event, Disney shared news on exciting new films that will be continuations of some beloved Pixar franchises. This news comes shortly after the multi-month run of Pixar Fest at Disneyland celebrating popular Pixar characters and stories.

The highly-anticipated Incredibles 2 sequel was released in 2018, fourteen years after the original Incredibles movie was released in 2004. Now, Disney has announced that there is a third film coming!
Disney has shared at the Disney Entertainment Showcase that there will be an Incredibles 3 film, and Brad Bird is currently working on it as it is in development. Brad Bird is a Pixar animator, director, and producer known for his work on films including The Incredibles and Ratatouille. No further details have yet been shared on the plot of the film and its release.
Disney also shared some details about Toy Story 5, which will focus on what happens when the toys go “head to head with what kids are obsessed with today: electronics.” The most recent installment of the Toy Story franchise, Toy Story 4, came out in 2019.
The announcement also included the detail that there will be an army of Buzz Lightyears stuck in toy mode which will become a problem. The film will be released in the summer of 2026.

New Pixar Film Announced
At the Disney Entertainment Showcase, Pixar also announced a new original film Hoppers starring Jon Hamm, Bobby Moynihan, and Piper Curda. The Hoppers film will be coming to theaters in Spring of 2026. See the announcement from Pixar and the image Pixar released on Instagram.
