Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Dining: Classic Food and Great Theme

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is a 50's themed diner style restaurant with stellar milkshakes and burgers inside Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World. The best part about this restaurant? The entire theme is set up to take you to a sci-fi drive-in movie theater! All of the tables in the restaurant are shaped like classic cars and there's a large projector screen showing clips of classic sci-fi movies. The theme of this restaurant makes it a popular choice for guests and our Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater review can help you decide if this restaurant is a good fit for your group.

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Review- Theme

The theme at the Sci-Fi Dine-In theater makes it one of my favorite Disney World restaurants. The booths are shaped like cars with attached tables in front of the seats. The inside of the theater is themed like an outdoor dine-in theater complete with a movie screen, light up sky, and 50's style car speaks by each table.

We were seated off to the side so we had a good view of the entire restaurant.

There was a wide variety of clips playing, I don't think we saw anything twice so plenty of variety.

Since we dined post-COVID, the carbooths next to you are kept empty so everyone is distanced.

The movie clips on the screen feature old fashioned sci-fi movie scenes such as aliens, mummies, robots, and more. They're cheesy to the point of perfection and were a big hit with my 10 year old son. Take in your surroundings as you walk to your ‘car' as the details in this restaurant are so spot on with vintage kitchen touches, lit up taillights on the car booths, and a sky full of stars. There's also picnic tables available in the back of the restaurant with an old-fashioned drive-in style concession stand.

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Review- Menu and FoodAbove view of Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater review

The food at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is all themed to be 1950's American style food with burgers, fries, and milkshakes. Adults can also enjoy a variety of alcoholic milkshakes with one favorite being the Orbiting Oreos. You can see their full menu on the Disney World website.

I got the Orbiting Oreos milkshake! It was good but if you're looking for a strong drink, this isn't it. The alcohol was very mild which was perfect for me.

My son got the light up souvenir cup which was pretty basic but he liked it.

I got the Impossible burger and french fries which was quite tasty. I'm not a big fan of the Impossible burgers but they did a nice job grilling it well.

My son got the kids meal with two choice of sides. Lots of easy options for kids here!

Overall, we really enjoyed our experience at the Sci-Fi Drive-In Theater! The theme was wonderful and my son really enjoyed it. I loved the details of the restaurant with the starry sky ceiling and classic old car booths. It was one of the most memorable places we ate at for our trip. The food was also good and I thought the classic options were fun. It's also a good choice for picky eaters in your group since most kids will do just fine with mac & cheese and french fries! This is a restaurant we will always return to on future visits.
