Epic Universe Opening Date Revealed for Universal Orlando!

Epic Universe is the brand new theme park coming to Universal Orlando. Epic Universe will feature a new Harry Potter land, a Super Nintendo land, an area themed on How to Train Your Dragon plus a land themed around the classic Universal monsters.

Universal’s Epic Universe will be the first major theme park built in the Orlando market since Universal Islands of Adventure opened in 1999. This new theme park features some of their most popular intellectual properties like Nintendo and Harry Potter. But even the recent details of the classic Universal Monsters lands shows that all areas of the park will include cutting edge technology.

Previously, we got the projected opening timeline for Epic Universe but now Universal Orlando has made an official announcement with the EXACT opening date!

Epic Universe Opening Date Announced

Universal Orlando will officially open on May 22, 2025. Universal Orlando shared this official announcement along with the news that multi-day tickets and vacation packages will go on sale October 22, 2024. 

Previously, Universal Orlando shared that Epic Universe would be fully open to the public as early as Memorial Day weekend 2025. WSJ reported that Universal shared that “the timing of the planned opening could change.”

As for the other two of the three Epic Universe hotels, Universal Stella Nova Resort will open on January 21, 2025 and Universal Terra Luna Resort will open February 25, 2025.

Universal Orlando's New Theme Park

There are five brand new lands coming to Epic Universe all offering state of the art new attractions, dining, immersion and more.

Celestial Park

Celestial Park is the area guests will see first as they enter Epic Universe with acres of rolling gardens, chasing waterways and pathways which Universal states will “put the park back in theme park.” Guests can wander through the expansive gardens, waterways, all surrounded by architecture inspired by astronomical and mythological elements.

Super Nintendo World

Super Nintendo World  will be a far more complex and expansive version than the one at Universal Studios Hollywood. It will include three new Nintendo attractions, including a Donkey Kong mine cart roller coaster, along with the same immersive details we've seen at the other Nintendo lands.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic will blend the 1920s Paris from the Fantastic Beasts films with the British Ministry of Magic from the Harry Potter series. The headliner attraction will be a dark ride in which guests enter the Ministry of Magic like we see in the Harry Potter movies.

How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk

How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk will feature numerous brand new attractions, meet and greets with favorite characters, and amazing shows.

Dark Universe

Dark Universe will be a land focused on the Universal Classic Monsters where guests will encounter everything from the experiments of Dr. Victoria Frankenstein to a “shadowy landscape” where monsters roam along with a brand new ride utilizing advanced technology.
