One of Disneyland‘s classic rides has been closed for refurbishment for a few months now, and Disney recently revealed that the ride will have a new scene from a favorite film when it reopens. Now, we have confirmation of the reopening date for the ride!

Disneyland Classic Ride Reopening Date Announced

Disneyland Park‘s Storybook Land Canal Boats attraction has been closed since late July for refurbishment, and now Disney has confirmed the reopening date. The attraction will reopen on November 14, 2025, the same day that the Disneyland Christmas celebration begins.

Disneyland recently revealed that Rapunzel’s Tower from Tangled will be featured between the Patchwork Quilt and Toad Hall in the ride when it reopens. You can see the concept art for that above! There are some fun details in this scene, like multiple wanted posters seeking Flynn Rider—each with a different depiction of his nose.
A little further down the canal, you’ll see a secluded dock with a boat framed by a trail of twinkling lights winding up a trellis on the bridge, evoking the iconic lantern scene. During the day, you’ll hear the song “When Will My Life Begin?” coming from Rapunzel’s Tower, and during the evening, you’ll hear “I See the Light.”
We love Tangled and are very excited to see these changes. It feels like such a natural and perfect addition for this special ride. We can’t wait to ride it at night!

Storybook Land Canal Boats has had a long history as one of the opening-day attractions at the park. It opened in 1955 as a boat ride, then underwent a transformation months later to add small-scale models of fairytale destinations along the banks. Over the years, they have added scenes from Disney Animation stories like Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, and Frozen. We love this historical photo Disney shared of the ride’s construction!
