Disneyland Adds Vending Machines for Pin Trading Throughout Parks

Pin trading is extremely popular in the Disney theme parks, so much so that Disneyland recently had to implement new rules for high-demand limited-edition pin releases and for how guests are allowed to trade pins with others in the park. Disney has now introduced a new way for fans to engage with pins.

Disneyland added vending machines for pin trading in various locations. We have details, pricing, and photos for how these new devices work. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including all the popcorn buckets available at Disneyland right now and 17 new Disney Hallmark ornaments.

Pin Trading Vending Machines

Pin trading

There have historically been two ways to obtain Disney pins: buying them in a store or online, or trading them with cast members or other guests. There’s now a third way: by stepping right up to Disneyland’s brand-new pin trading vending machines.

The contraption is exactly what it sounds like, a machine that distributes Disney pins as if they were cans of soda.

The pin vending machines have exclusive pins that aren’t sold in stores. The pins are packaged in spheres about the size of a baseball. Guests won’t know which pin they’re getting until they purchase it and open their sphere.

The pins are $18 each. They depict different Disney characters popping out of the very spheres they just came from. Here’s the full list of characters in this pin collection:

  • Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland
  • Aurora from Sleeping Beauty
  • Dumbo
  • Simba from The Lion King
  • Meeko from Pocahontas
  • Winnie the Pooh
  • Hades from Hercules
  • Sir Hiss from Robin Hood
  • The Hatbox Ghost from Haunted Mansion
  • Flotsam and Jetsam from The Little Mermaid
  • Dopey from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
  • A platypus from “it’s a small world”
  • Mama Odie from The Princess and the Frog
  • The Footstool from Beauty and the Beast
  • Flower from Bambi

So far, there are pin trading machines located at Bing Bong’s in Pixar Pier and San Fransokyo Square at Disney California Adventure, as well as at Disney’s Pin Traders at Downtown Disney.

The pins have a small marking on the back of them. Most of these markings are white, but if your pin has a blue marking, that indicates a chaser pin, a rarer find in less supply than the others.

This new way to purchase Disney pins follows a new procedure to prevent line-skipping on days when popular new pins are released at Disneyland.
