The lack of entertainment options at Disneyland have been on our radar for awhile now and this problem is only seeming to get worse.
The daytime shows at Disneyland offer more variety to guests and are central to the magic of the theme parks. They also help break up crowds and take less pressure off the popular rides in the park which is why we are disappointed to see these options shrinking.
We just got news that yet another show at Disneyland is closing down next month, joining a growing list of entertainment options that have been axed.

Avengers Assemble will have it's last performance on April 5, 2025 after being a central part of the entertainment offering of Avengers Campus since it opened in 2021. No update has been given on future entertainment offerings coming at this time.
Avengers Assemble is a stunt show that you can view easily from the seating area of Pym's Test Kitchen and Pym's Tasting Lab. Guests can watch Black Widow, Captain America, and Black Panther battle Taskmaster on the rooftop. I always enjoy watching this show while having a drink from Pym's Tasting Lab. It is such an easy show to view because of its location and really added to the atmosphere of the land which is already lacking.
This isn't the first show at Avengers Campus to come to an end. The popular Doctor Strange: Mysteries of the Mystic Arts ended in June 2024 which was a disappointing move since this show was the most popular in the land. Story Time with Deadpool Holiday Special also came to an end in January 2025.

Avengers Assemble may be closing in part so that construction can begin on the new offerings coming to Avengers Campus which includes two new rides, Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab, to the area.
Avengers Assemble Joins List of Closed Entertainment at Disneyland
This news comes just a day after Disney announced that Disney Jr. Dance Party in Disney California Adventure is now closed to make way for a new experience. No further information was offered on what this new experience will be only that it will take place later this year and more details will be announced soon.
The lack of daytime entertainment at Disneyland only continues to grow as both the Hyperion and Fantasyland Theatre are both currently empty. These are the two biggest live entertainment spaces in both theme parks and it has been extremely disappointing to see these spaces empty for so long. Rogers: The Musical was the last show to perform at the Hyperion which ran in summer 2023. The Fantasyland Theatre hasn't seen a full live show since the Tale of the Lion King in early 2024. Before the pandemic, the Fantasyland Theatre was home to Mickey and the Magical Map and Frozen: Live at the Hyperion ran consistently at the Hyperion.
I hope this trend doesn't continue and we see Disneyland move towards investing more towards their entertainment offerings in the theme parks. To me this is what really sets Disneyland apart from other theme parks, the entertainment offerings help bring the atmosphere of these lands to life and gives Disney an opportunity to showcase their storytelling.

It’s all about the dollars, paying more for less. A big disappointment. With covid they saw how much profit they
made without providing shows.
