PHOTOS! Disneyland Avengers Campus Construction Moving Forward With Visible Progress

The Avengers Campus expansion at Disney California Adventure is one of the major projects currently in development that will introduce two new Disneyland rides. This expansion has been a long time coming, as the land originally opened in 2021 with “Phase 2” planned that would introduce an e-ticket ride.

Avengers Campus construction is now finally underway as of a few months ago, and we got a glimpse at its progress from the Pixar Pal-a-Round during our recent visit! Keep reading for more photos and details.

Avengers Campus Construction Update

Before we dive into the construction update, let’s look at the overall concept artwork that Disney shared for an idea of the positioning of these new attractions. This expansion is going to double the size of Avengers Campus. In this overview of the expanded land, we can see how the entrance of the two new rides is situated to the right of the building with the Quinjet on top, where Avengers Vault is located. To the right of this concept artwork, you can see the new Stark Flight Lab ride, and off to the left is the entrance to the Avengers Infinity Defense ride.

These new additions will be located in this backstage area that also winds around in the area behind Cars Land. You can see that positioning below (and also check out our separate article on where the other new rides in Disney California Adventure will likely go).

With that in mind, here is a wide shot of the construction so far, looking out from the Pixar Pal-A-Round.

The project is still in the very early phases of construction, and it appears the area is now dirt, but nothing has gone vertical yet. There are lots of trees in the way blocking this, but you can see the patch of dirt that used to be parking lot between the trees and the building behind Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters.

This is a closer look at the construction site. We’re hoping they move construction along pretty quickly on this project, as it’s been a long time coming. The pressure is definitely on, as on the other coast, the new Epic Universe is dazzling visitors with some incredible new rides and experiences that just debuted.
