Disneyland Budget Hotel With Free Shuttle is Fine Option For Those Who Won’t Walk

We just stayed at the Anaheim Majestic Hotel which is a quick shuttle ride away from Disneyland. This property is affordable and a good budget hotel for a Disneyland stay though for me personally it is lacking one key element.

This hotel near Disneyland is located in a spot away from other hotels behind Disneyland Park between the park and the freeway. The location is not walkable to a Disneyland security checkpoint though it is very closeby.

The Anaheim Majestic Hotel property is large with lots of hotel rooms and sprawling grounds. The pool is one of the nicest among the budget hotel options in the area and my room was very comfortable.

Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel Review

anaheim majestic hotel entrance sign

The Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel attempts to balance a medieval theme – similar to the Castle Inn and Suites on Harbor Boulevard – with more modern flourishes that try to make this hotel feel both fun for kids and well-appointed for adults. I would say that it almost accomplishes this but falls a little flat being caught in the middle. It ended up with a somewhat gray feeling throughout the hallways that feel like they go on forever.

The property feels slightly dated with the mix of the theme and modern renovation. I don't think kids would notice and instead be intrigued by the castle exterior and cute decorations in the lobby. Plus, the rooms are still clean and large. The lobby is the main detractor design-wise for me. It just feels a bit dated and very out of style compared to the other more modern hotels in the area. Where other hotels have leaned into light and airy, the Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel lobby is dark and mahogany.

These are all things that I wouldn't read too much into because the hotel delivers for my key areas – comfortable bed, clean linens, and good bathroom.

For those looking on a budget, this is a good hotel to compare for a stay with The Clarion Hotel, one of our favorite budget properties though the room here at the Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel is the winner in that fight.

I personally prefer a hotel that is walking distance to Disneyland and would opt for a 15 minute walk over a 5 minute bus ride every single time but those who are interested in our guide to free hotel shuttles to Disneyland would argue otherwise. We can crown this hotel the best Disneyland budget option with its own shuttle. It beats other shuttles on the list because of the lower pricing while still being a close distance from the park.

The hotel shuttle picks up throughout the day and does multiple trips in the morning if there is a wait. The Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel shuttle runs every half hour and begins loading guests an hour before park opening. There are also plenty of shuttles for the hotel so it feels like they are well prepared for peak times.

The shuttle bus is a converted school bus painted to be the “dream machine” that's headed to the hotel. The shuttles are not quite as nice as the ones at The Garland Hotel for Universal Studios Hollywood, but they do the job.

For return trips from Disneyland, the hotel picks up in the bus loops near the Anaheim Rapid Transit ART shuttles. This is closer than even the Disneyland Uber and Lyft drop off points.

Speaking of the ART Shuttle, having the dedicated shuttle offering with the hotel is quite a nice change from having to drop off other guests at their hotels.

You can get the lowest prices on a stay at the Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel by purchasing your hotel and tickets through our travel partner, Get Away Today. You can book the lowest prices here. When looking at ahead the pricing for the hotel from Get Away Today ranges from $200-$235 per night.

For those who do want to walk from the hotel to the Disneyland Resort you can do so along sidewalks behind the land and over to the Downtown Disney security checkpoint next to the Star Wars Trading Post. The walk mapped for 20 minutes is from the hotel to security checkpoint at which point there is still probably about a 10 minute walk or you can get on the Disneyland monorail.

Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel Room Tour

The Anaheim Majestic Hotel is located in a building that appears to be a grand chateau-like structure. The grounds feature grassy areas and a pool located in the middle.

As we write in our guide to the best hotels near Disneyland, many hotels have a pool surrounded by a parking lot added simply as an amenity that can be promoted on the website. This is not the cast at the Anaheim Majestic Hotel. The pool area has a set of furniture surrounding it and we saw multiple people enjoying the area.

After a long walk down winding hallways that turned me around, which I think is notable as I am quite good with directions, I found my room and was pleased.

During my trip I stayed in a king bedroom that also had a little coffee table sitting area. The room sheets and bedding were very comfortable. The room itself is also quite spacious. I have received the same reports of ample space for the queen rooms as well. This hotel was previously a Sheraton and some of that larger bedroom footprint remains.

Comfortable bed and great pillows! Had two great nights sleeps here.

I did find myself wishing that the carpet had been replaced with some sort of hard flooring that so many of the modern hotels in the area like the Element by Westin Anaheim have added. It isn't that it was definitely dirty, but it did feel a bit dated.

The bathroom was very clean and had a nice set of amenities here. There were plenty of outlets and in my room there was a sitting area also.

Extra Offerings at Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel

The hotel attempts to bring the magic from Disneyland into its offerings. They have a fairytale theme around Princess Corinne throughout the hotel with special touches in the hallways and a fireside storytelling in the evening with the princess herself.

There are also a number of restaurants on site that offer various types of dining. The featured restaurant on site is the Hanagi Japanese Cuisine restaurant which features a head chef who arrived after stints in various kitchens including at Morimoto Asia in Disney Springs in Walt Disney World which we like very much.

The hotel also has a bar that also serves dinner, bistro for breakfasts along a comfortable outdoor patio, and a deli with fresh foods.

During my stay I didn't try any of these dining options, though I was intrigued by the Hanagi Restaurant and hope to get back there to try that if only for the connection to Morimoto Asia.

For those looking for a hotel with a shuttle or who want to drive and park in the Disneyland shuttles, this hotel is a great option to consider that works for almost every Disneyland budget.
