How Much Are Refillable Disney World Mugs?
All Disney World refillable mugs, also known as Rapid-Fill mugs, are currently priced at $22.99 each and can be used at any Disney World resort drink station for the length of your Disney vacation, for up to 14 days. Not only are these mugs environmentally sustainable but can be another souvenir guests can take home to use and remember their vacation. The mugs use RFID technology that is activated at the time of purchase and allows guests access to unlimited refills.
These 16-ounce insulated plastic mugs can hold both hot and cold drinks and have a variety of fun patterns to choose from that periodically change during events or seasons. In the past, we have seen Christmas and Halloween themes, and currently, guests can purchase Disney 100 celebration mugs with purple or platinum accents.
The mugs can only be used at the designated Disney World resort stations located at their respective quick-service restaurants, which are listed below. These stations do not include milk (for drinking or to add to coffee), alcoholic drinks, or real fruit juice such as orange juice or apple juice. However, guests can refill their mugs as many times as they wish with whatever drink they choose including water, hot coffee, hot tea, and Coca-Cola soda products including lemonade and Powerade.
If you're planning on also visiting Universal Orlando during your vacation, be sure to see our guide to Universal Orlando refillable cups for details on how these differ from Disney World mugs and whether or not they are worth it.
Disney World Mug Refill Stations
Below is a list of all resort quick service restaurants within the Disney resorts. These restaurants will have refillable mugs for purchase along with a self-service beverage island to refill your mug. These refill stations also often include a washing station to wash or rinse out your mug in between refills.
Please note certain drinks, such as coffee and hot tea, may only be available in the morning and not all day. You will also want to check the daily hours of operation of each quick-service restaurant. Typically, they are open from 6:30 AM or 7 AM until 11 PM, however, holidays or other seasonable events may cause operating times to change.

Disney Refillable Mug Cons
A potential downside to purchasing a Disney World refillable mug is that they cannot be refilled at any of the theme parks, water parks, or Disney Springs. Also of note, refillable stations are not located at third-party Disney property hotels including Walt Disney World Swan, Walt Disney World Dolphin, or Shades of Green.
However, the good news is that the mugs can be refilled at any resort whether or not you are currently staying there. Therefore, if you are staying at the Swan or Dolphin Resort, you can still purchase and refill the mugs at nearby resorts such as Yacht and Beach Club or Boardwalk Inn. If you are staying at multiple resorts during your vacation, also known as a split stay, you are free to refill your mug at each resort with no issue.
There are also conveniently located water bottle refill stations all over Disney property which you can use to refill your mug with water if you choose to bring it to the parks or Disney Springs.

Disney World Refillable Mug Tips
For those who have purchased a Disney World refillable mug in the past and are considering bringing it on your next trip for reactivation, we recommend purchasing a new mug. There have been primarily negative, while mixed, reviews stating the RFID technology cannot be reactivated due to the RFID being faulty or expired after washing or microwaving. Furthermore, it would cost the same price to reactivate the mug as it would be to purchase a new one, so you might as well purchase a differently designed mug to add to your collection.
In addition to purchasing the refillable mugs at most Disney resort gift shops or at resort quick service restaurants, you can also use the mobile order feature on the My Disney Experience app to purchase a refillable mug for easy pickup.
Disney Dining Plan
The Disney Dining Plan offers the convenience and flexibility of prepaid meals and snacks which also help with the financial planning of your vacation. Both dining plans include one Disney World refillable mug for each person covered under the plan over three years old with the same benefits as purchasing one separately.
Disney offers two choices of dining plans:
- The Disney Dining Plan includes one table-service meal, which can include character dining, one quick-service meal, one snack or nonalcoholic drink, and one resort fillable mug per night of stay.
- The Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan includes two quick-service meals, one snack or nonalcoholic drink, and one resort refillable mug per night of stay.
In both plans, the number of meals and snacks is determined by the number of nights in the vacation, however, they can be used at any time. The use of the refillable mug, along with any unused meals with your dining plan, expires at midnight on the date of checkout. Beverages are also included with each meal, and guests 21 and over can substitute for beer, wine, or cocktails.
We go over the price comparisons and further details on the return of the Disney Dining Plan in our guide.
Are Disney World Refillable Mugs Worth the Cost?
There are several pros and cons to consider if you are thinking of purchasing a Disney World refillable mug. If you plan on spending a fair amount of time at your resort or other Disney World resort locations, it can be not only cost-effective but convenient to purchase a refillable mug for your trip. From your morning coffee to Powerade for some hydration after spending time at the pool or a day at the parks, refillable mugs can be very useful. A cup of coffee or bottle of soda costs around $5 each at the parks, so after just 4 or 5 refills, the cup pays for itself. It is also very convenient to have the option of refilling your cup steps away from your resort pool instead of making the trek back to your room for a beverage. If you do decide to purchase a Disney World refillable mug, we highly recommend doing so as soon as you check in to your resort to enjoy these refills right away.
However, there are also other options to consider instead of purchasing a refillable mug. Many guests purchase the mug thinking they will use it a lot more than they actually do. Therefore, guests end up spending more money on drinks in the parks or not refilling them with specialty drinks as much as they planned.
One option in lieu of refillable mugs is to bring your own favorite sodas, drinks, or water from home or the grocery store if that is a convenient option for your family. Since the refill stations are only located at resorts, you have the option to store your favorite drinks in your room and drink them as you please throughout your stay in your own refillable cups. Additionally, if you do not care about having a variety of drinks available and stick primarily to water or purchase drinks in the theme parks, it is probably not worth the cost for the unlimited refills alone.
The most cost-effective option would be to purchase a Disney Dining Plan, especially when staying at a Disney resort. Not only do both plans include a refillable mug, but they also include other discounts included with staying at a Disney resort and allow better financial planning ahead of your vacation. The worries surrounding the amount of refills, cost of the refillable mug, or need for a wide drink variety disappear when purchasing a Disney Dining Plan. If your family plans on enjoying the restaurants at Disney’s theme parks and staying at a Disney resort, the Disney Dining Plan should always be considered. The Disney Dining Plan gives you the most bang for your buck and includes the added perk of unlimited drink refills throughout your stay.
