Disney World Just Increased Prices on Annual Passes, Thousands of Food Items, PhotosPass, and More

Walt Disney World increased prices today in a few different categories of theme park experiences including Annual Passes, food and beverages like popular dining experiences, parking, and Memory Maker photo downloads.

This price increase comes at the same time Disneyland announced an increase for all ticket types, their Annual Passholder program, and the Genie+ program. Let's go over all the price increases for Walt Disney World and how this will impact your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth.

In addition to the bigger price increases on passes and parking which we'll discuss, Walt Disney World also increased prices across a number of offerings at the resort including food and PhotoPass. We'll go into each of these in detail below.

These price increases come as Disney has shared plans to invest $60 Billion in the expansion of the Disney theme parks over the next 10 years. They teased projects themed to Frozen and Black Panther. The increases in prices are all tied to Disney's efforts to increase the perception of the theme parks as growth engines for The Walt Disney Company as streaming growth stalls.

Disney World Raises Food Prices

One of the most significant price increases, which on the surface may seem minor, that will impact guests visiting Walt Disney World is the cost of food. Overnight Disney raised prices on thousands of food options at Walt Disney World from snacks, beverages, prix fixe menus, and dessert parties. Here are some examples of the food price increases at Walt Disney World:

  • Drinks like bottled soda, Powerade, bottled water, etc. have seen an increase of $0.20 to $0.50 which puts many of these bottled drink options at the $6 mark. Similar increases were seen in ice cream bars bringing them closer to $6.
  • Alcohol at bars saw an increase of anywhere from $0.50 to $1.50 depending on the location.
  • Pizza and burgers increased anywhere from $0.50 to $2 depending on the location.
  • Some price increases hit particular menu items harder with jumps of $3-4 increases at table service locations.
  • Prix-fix menus (think locations like Cinderella's Royal Table, Be Our Guest, etc.) saw increases ranging from $1-5 per adult/child.
  • Snacks saw increases of $0.25 to $1 for popular items like Mickey pretzels, Dole Whips, popcorn, and churros.
  • Variable pricing for Walt Disney World dessert parties has also been introduced meaning costs for the popular Disney World fireworks dessert parties will vary depending on the date. In this case, many parties saw a baseline increase of $5 to $15 depending on the day.

These prices are minor depending on the item but they do add up and can impact your Disney World food budget, especially with larger families dining in the parks.

Why Did Disney World Raise Food Prices?

Walt Disney World's increase in dining prices is likely in response to inflation which has been impacting the cost of food drastically for all sectors. This increase is likely not an effort at profit but one to ensure they are not losing money.

These increases also come before the return of the popular Disney World Dining Plan on January 9th, 2023 which will make the cost of prepurchasing a dining plan more appealing when doing the math on higher food prices. This gives guests an incentive to consider prepurchasing this plan. Disney World wants guests to commit to dining inside the parks!

Disney World Memory Maker Increase

Walt Disney World has also increased the cost of Memory Maker which is the service that provides guests with digital downloads of all their professional photos taken in the theme parks. Disney stations photographers all around the theme parks to capture photos of guests in iconic areas like in front of Cinderella's Castle, Spaceship Earth at EPCOT, and more. The cost of Memory Maker for your entire trip went up to $185 from $169 when purchased three days in advance. Memory Maker for one day went up to $75 from $69. For guests who decide to purchase Memory Maker either during the trip or afterward, the cost for all photos went up to $210 from $199.

Disney World Raises Parking Prices

Walt Disney World also raised the cost of theme park parking to $30 from $25 per car for standard parking. The cost also increased for preferred parking to $35 from $30 and a $5 increase for oversized vehicle parking which now ranges from $45-$55. This is in line with other central Florida theme parks like Universal Orlando which charges around $30 for their standard parking.

Walt Disney World also increased prices for all Annual Passholder types. These price increases are just for Annual Passes and do not impact regular Walt Disney World tickets which did not see an increase. Current Walt Disney World Annual Passholders can renew their pass at a lower price.

  • Disney Incredi-Pass – New Price: $1,449 Old Price: $1,399
    • Renewal: $1,229
  • Disney Sorcerer Pass- New Price: $999 Old Price: $969

This increase averages about $4-50 per pass type. Walt Disney World also announced that Annual Passholders will be able to take advantage of “Good-to-Go Days” in January 2024. These Good-to-Go Days are select days when Annual Passholders can visit without a theme park reservation.
