New Muppets Audio-Animatronics Revealed

In tandem with the food menu reveal, Disney shared first-look photos of some of the Audio-Animatronics figures in the preshow for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.

Before boarding the coaster, guests will visit a recording studio, where Scooter, band manager for the Electric Mayhem, is overseeing a session with penguin audio engineers.

Puppeteer David Rudman performed as Scooter in motion-capture so that Imagineers could program the character’s Audio-Animatronics likeness to match the puppet’s familiar movements.

Penguin Audio-Animatronics figures were previously part of the orchestra pit in Muppet*Vision 3D, an attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios that permanently closed in 2025, along with several other attractions, to make way for an upcoming Monstropolis land. These penguin engineers may be those same repurposed figures from Muppet*Vision 3D or new builds.
Disney World’s Busy Summer of New Attractions

In addition to the opening of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, May 26 is a big day for new attraction openings at all four Disney World theme parks. These follow the May 22 opening of a new version of Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the updated ride featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, both at Magic Kingdom, have also recently completed major refurbishments, now sporting updated special effects and new story moments.
