Disney World Events in March
Here are all the current events to know about impacting Disney World in March!
EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival
Spring begins to bloom at Disney World with the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival. This annual event brings beautiful gardens, playgrounds, and great entertainment. Even if you aren't into gardening, be sure to get a picture by the freshly trimmed hedges near the Imagination pavilion.
This is one of my favorite festivals at EPCOT due to the beautiful themed Disney topiaries around the resort! It's a not to miss event and runs throughout the entire month of March.
St. Patrick's Day
If you happen to be in Disney World on St. Patrick's Day make sure to take the time to go to the World Showcase's United Kingdom Pavilion to enjoy the St. Patrick's Day fun.
Easter at Walt Disney World
Participate in the Egg-stravaganza scavenger hunt and search high and low for eggs around the World Showcase that depict your favorite Disney characters to celebrate Easter.

Disney World Crowd Calendar
March marks the beginning of bigger crowds at Walt Disney World. After the first week in March, which is relatively light, crowds increase as the Spring Break season begins. But despite the increase in crowd levels, March also marks the end of a lot of attraction refurbishments and will bring longer operating hours to Disney World which makes the news of higher crowd levels a bit more welcome.
Spring Break at Walt Disney World is one of the busiest times of the year and you will experience peak crowd levels during the second and third week of the month. In fact, we typically call this one of the times of the year to avoid Disney if you hate crowds.
However, the crowds are balanced out a bit with the longer operating hours and full cast member staff on hand to help manage the demand. This is a great time to consider purchasing Walt Disney World Genie+ and taking advantage of Individual Lightning Lane purchases.
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, Toy Story Land, and Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway are still a large draw for guests visiting Disney World in March so you can expect some larger crowds flocking to Disney's Hollywood Studios. This may be welcome news for Pandora fans as it may take some pressure off the high ticket rides in Animal Kingdom.

Disney World Weather in March
Visiting Disney World in March is a great time of year for guests to avoid high temperatures that are more common in the summer months. The average high in March is 78 degrees with the average low being 58 degrees.
March is also known for being one of Disney World's rainy months with averages rainfalls being comparable to those you see in the summer. You're more likely to experience brief afternoon showers rather than an all day rainfall.
Tips for Visiting in March
When it comes to visiting Disney World in March, we have some tried and true hacks for having a magical time on your vacation.
What to Wear
One of the most frequently asked guest questions is: what should I wear to Disney World? Always check the weather leading up to your trip. Considering that after the summer months, March is the rainiest month at Disney World it is essential you pack ponchos for your group so you can enjoy the parks- even in the rain! I recommend dressing in layers that are comfortable for both hot weather and rain. Once the sun goes down, the evenings will feel chilly (especially when you factor in humidity) so bring some lightweight hoodies or jackets. You can always rent a locker to store jackets in during the day and go back to grab them once the day cools down.
What to Pack
March can be a slightly unpredictable month with the potential for rain or heat waves. Because the weather can vary so much day by day, check the weather each day leading up to your trip. Come prepared based on what the forecast says.
You can read our giant Walt Disney World packing list to make sure you show up prepared for literally anything you need while you're visiting Disney World.
What to Expect
There are a few things you should expect when choosing March as your month to visit Disney World:
- Make time for EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival- even if you're not passionate about gardening, there's plenty to see and do at this festival! Between tours of the beautiful Epcot gardens, dining, and rock concerts there is plenty to enjoy. Make advance dining reservations to ensure your spot for any of the offered dining packages.
- Tips for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge- if you're planning on visiting Batuu, then make sure to read our guide on the Star Wars themed land! There are a few experiences that have been extremely popular aside from the Millennium Falcon ride and it's good to show up prepared so you know where to go first and how to make reservations for popular experiences. And don't forget about Rise of the Resistance!
But most of all, remember to enjoy your time at the most magical place on earth!
