Disney World Hotel Suites Overview

Magic Kingdom Castle with blue sky

There are several perks and benefits to staying at a Walt Disney World resort. These perks include extra morning hours each day, free transportation to and from the parks and Disney Springs, as well as various amenities including pools, restaurants, gift shops, and resort activities. With dozens of Walt Disney World resorts, it can be hard to choose where to stay especially if you have a group of five or more individuals.

However, Disney World hotels have many options of suites from deluxe studios to three bedroom grand villas. These rooms fit between five and twelve adults comfortably depending on the size of your group. There are also suites available in every resort category from value to deluxe. We will detail each of these resorts within their respective category, including what room options for larger groups, and what types of rooms are available at each.

Disney World Value Hotels with Suites

If you are looking to save money on the cost of your resort, there are two great value resorts which offer suites that sleep up to six adults. These resorts are Disney's Art of Animation Resort and Disney's All-Star Music Resort. Both resorts are a cost effective way to book a resort suite if you have a larger group and are looking to save money on the price of your hotel.

Disney's Art of Animation Family Suites

Skyiner over water at Disney World

My hands down favorite Disney World hotel value suites can be found at the Art of Animation resort. This is my favorite value level resort for large groups because of the themes of these rooms as well as being very conveniently located on the Skyliner transportation route. The Skyliner is a gondola-style vehicle which can take guests to the four different resorts located on the Skyliner, as well as EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.

Each of the suites at Art of Animation are laid out similarly and can each sleep up to six adults. The suites have one queen bed which is located in a private bedroom, as well as one double sleeper sofa and one double table bed which are both located in the general living areas of the suite.

The themes of each suite include:

  • Lion King Family Suites
  • Cars Family Suites
  • Finding Nemo Family Suites

Disney's All-Star Music Resort Suites

All Star music resort outdoor view

The other option for Disney World hotel suites in a value resort is located at Disney's All-Star Music Resort, which is near the Animal Kingdom area. It should be noted that this is the only All-Star resort that offers suites, as All-Star Sports and All-Star Movies do not have suites available. Although All-Star Music is not as conveniently located as Art of Animation, it's still a great option for a cost effective suite for a larger group.

The suites at All-Star Music Resort include one queen bed located in a private bedroom, as well as two queen size pull down beds located in the main living area. The layout is slightly different than Art of Animation with two queen beds inside the bedroom, however, the overall size is very similar.

Disney World Moderate Hotels with Suites

Disney World also has two moderate level hotels that offer suites for larger groups which include Disney's Coronado Springs Resort and The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. These resorts have slightly better amenities than value resorts such as more spacious rooms, nicer restaurants located within the resorts, as well as hot tubs and nicer pool areas which the value resorts don't offer.

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is located near Animal Kingdom and is a very large property with beautiful and spacious rooms. They offer three types of rooms which can sleep between five and eight people. These rooms include:

  • Casitas One Bedroom Suite: The Casitas One Bedroom Suite sleeps up to six adults and has two queen beds within a bedroom and one queen size sleeper sofa in the main living area.
  • Casitas – Executive Suite: The Casitas Executive Suite sleeps up to eight adults and has one king bed, two queen beds, and one queen sleeper sofa. This is a very comfortable suite that even includes a large dining table if you choose to order food or bring food back to your suite.
  • Tower – Presidential Suite  with Club Access – In the Gran Destino Tower, there are also suites with club access that can comfortably sleep groups with five or more people. The Presidential Suite can sleep up to six adults and includes one king bed and two queen beds. This option is also a very spacious, while more expensive, option with a full living room and dining area.

The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort sign at night

The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is very conveniently located near the Magic Kingdom. Although a lot of guests bring their own RVs and camp at Fort Wilderness, the campsite also offers cabins that you can rent for larger groups.

The Wilderness Cabins, located at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, can sleep up to 6 adults. The rooms include one queen bed, one double sleeper sofa bed, and one bunk bed.

Another perk of staying at the Fort Wilderness Resort is being able to use the free boat transportation system which can take guests to the Magic Kingdom as well as the various resorts located along the monorail. The boats run on 15 to 30 minute intervals and can be an enjoyable way to travel between your resort and the Magic Kingdom.

Disney World Deluxe Resorts with Suites

Skyliner view at Riveria Resort

This next section will go over all of the deluxe Disney World suites and the options they offer for larger groups. Disney World's deluxe resorts by far have the most options for suites, however they tend to be pretty pricey. Despite the cost, staying at deluxe level resort has so many advantages besides the options for larger groups to stay together in one suite. For example, deluxe resort guests have the option to take advantage of Extended Evening Hours which are exclusive after hours which take place periodically throughout the week. Additionally, deluxe level resorts have the best options for restaurants, lounges, pool areas, and overall a more luxurious atmosphere.

Deluxe resorts offer many room size options, which include some studios and standard sized rooms which can sleep up to five guests. Deluxe resorts also have the option to book a room in their respective club level suites. The clubs are typically open 24/7 with service between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM and offer complimentary breakfast, appetizers, desserts, and a comfortable lounge to take a break.

One Bedroom Villa Kitchen at Old Key West Resort

Another perk of staying in deluxe resorts is they often have a patio or balcony, as well as a kitchenette in studios and a full kitchen in one bedroom suites and larger. Additionally, one bedroom villas and larger have a washer and dryer in each room which is a great perk for longer stays.

Since there are more deluxe resorts with Disney World hotel suite options, we will categorize them into where they are located which includes the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs areas of Disney World property.

Magic Kingdom Area Resorts with Suites

Cinderella Castle at magic kingdom

Disney's Polynesian Resort

Conveniently located on the monorail, Disney's Polynesian Resort is one of my favorite deluxe level resorts. The Polynesian theme, restaurants, pool area, and location close to Magic Kingdom makes it a great choice to stay.

Polynesian Resort lobby view

The Polynesian's rooms and suites options for groups of five or more include:

  • Standard Rooms or Deluxe Studios: Polynesian's standard and deluxe studios both fit up to five guests. There are also two bathrooms located in the deluxe studios for convenience. There is one full bathroom with a tub and one half bathroom with a sink and walk-in shower only.
  • Club Level Rooms and Suites: The Polynesian offers club level suites than can sleep between five and eight adults. These suites have exclusive access to the Polynesian's King Kamehameha Club.
  • Bungalows: The bungalows are arguably the coolest rooms at the Polynesian and can fit up to eight adults. This is your own private bungalow located right on the Seven Seas Lagoon. There is one king bed, one queen bed, one queen size pull down bed, and two single pull down beds. Each bungalow also has their own private plunge pool on the back deck for prime viewing of the fireworks.

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort

Grand Floridian in front of blue sky

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort is also located on the monorail and is a beautiful Victorian-style deluxe resort. There are several Disney World hotel suite options for larger groups of five or more people including:

  • Standard Rooms, Deluxe Studios, Resort Studios, and Club Level Studios: These rooms sleep up to five adults and have various layouts and view options including theme park, water, and resort views.
  • Club Level Rooms and Suites: The Grand Floridian offers studios, one bedroom, and two bedroom suites on their club level that can sleep between five and eight adults. Guests in these rooms have access to the Royal Palm Club.
  • Villas: There are choices between one, two and three bedroom villas that can fit between five and 12 adults. The three bedroom villa also conveniently has a large dining and living room area.

Disney's Contemporary Resort

Another great monorail resort that offers suite options for groups of five or more is Disney's Contemporary Resort. This resort also is located closest to the Magic Kingdom, and you can even walk there from the resort instead of taking the monorail.

Contemporary Resort hotel at night

The suites available at the Contemporary include:

  • Main Tower, Garden Wing, and Club Level Studios: There are several layout options to choose from with the Contemporary's studios that can sleep up to five guests. It should be noted that the Contemporary's deluxe studios only sleep four adults and may not work for larger groups.
  • Club Level Rooms and Suites: The Contemporary Resort also offers club level rooms that can sleep between five and ten adults. These guests can enjoy exclusive access to the Atrium Club. These rooms have views of Magic Kingdom, resort, or water views.
  • Villas: There are choices between one, two and three bedroom villas that can fit between five and 12 adults. The three bedroom villa also conveniently has a large dining and living room area. Guests can have a choice of Magic Kingdom, resort, or water views.

Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort

Wilderness Lodge lobby

Although it is not located on the monorail, Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort is a beautiful rustic-themed resort located near the Magic Kingdom. There are two different areas within Fort Wilderness that offer deluxe rooms: Boulder Ridge Villas and Copper Creek Villas. Both are beautiful in their own right and offer similar layouts.

Guests also have the option to take a boat directly from Wilderness Lodge to the Magic Kingdom, or any other Magic Kingdom area resort. The room options for larger groups at the Wilderness Lodge include:

  • Deluxe Studios: The deluxe studio rooms at Copper Creek Villas can sleep up to five adults.
  • Club Level Rooms and Suites: Fort Wilderness offers deluxe rooms which can fit up to six guests with exclusive club access to the Old Faithful Club.
  • Villas: Both Boulder Ridge Villas and Copper Creek Villas at Fort Wilderness have two and three bedroom villa options that sleep up to five and eight adults, respectively. There are one bedroom villas available, however, they only fit up to four guests and probably are not suitable for larger groups.
  • Cabins: Copper Creek Villas offer a two bedroom cabin for groups of up to eight adults. This includes a private porch with a hot tub in addition to a full kitchen, living, and dining areas.
  • COMING SOON – DVC Fort Wilderness Renovated CabinsDisney World recently announced the plan to renovate 350 of the current Fort Wilderness cabins into Disney Vacation Club (DVC) properties. These cabins are set to open in July 2024 and will accommodate up to six adults including a bedroom, bathroom, living room, full kitchen, and private patio.

EPCOT/Hollywood Studios Area Resorts

Spaceship earth at night at epcot

There are four deluxe resorts located in the EPCOT/Hollywood Studios area which all offer great options for suites. In my personal opinion, these resorts are most conveniently located as guests can either walk, take a boat, and/or take the Skyliner gondolas to either EPCOT or Hollywood Studios. Most of these resorts are also located on Disney's BoardWalk which is a fun area to visit offering restaurants, bars, and nightlife.

Disney's Riviera Resort

Disney's Riviera Resort is located on the Skyliner which allows guests to easily access EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. The Riviera is a beautiful French-inspired resort with many Disney World hotel suite options for guests, including:

  • Deluxe Studios: Riviera's deluxe studio rooms can sleep up to five guests.
  • Villas: Groups of five or more can also choose between one, two, and three bedroom villas which can sleep between five and twelve guests. These villas are extremely spacious and include a full kitchen, living area, balcony, and washer and dryer.

Disney's BoardWalk Inn

Disney Boardwalk Inn front entrance

Disney's BoardWalk Inn is conveniently located in the center of Disney's BoardWalk and has a lot of great amenities. For groups of five or more, the BoardWalk Inn offers the following rooms:

  • Deluxe and Standard Studios: BoardWalk's standard rooms and deluxe studios allow up to five guests per room. They have choices between resort views and water views.
  • Club Level Rooms and Suites: If you are interested in a club level access room, BoardWalk offers a standard room sleeping up to five guests, a deluxe room which sleeps up to six guests, the Sonora VP Suite which fits up to six adults, and a two bedroom suite which sleeps up to nine adults.

Disney's Beach Club Resort and Villas

Disney Beach Club Resort pool

Disney's Beach Club Resort is also located steps away from Disney's BoardWalk, and is a short walk to EPCOT and boat ride to Hollywood Studios. There are several rooms and suites available at Beach Club for groups of five or more, including:

  • Deluxe and Standard Studios: Beach Club's resort or water view standard studios can sleep up to five guests, and the deluxe studio room can sleep up to six guests. The deluxe studio at Disney's Beach Club Villas can sleep up to five guests.
  • Club Level Suites: There are two suite options for groups of five or more. The two bedroom suite can sleep up to seven adults and has views of the resort gardens, woods, or Crescent Lake. The Newport Presidential Suite very comfortably sleeps up to eight adults. Both have access to Beach Club's exclusive Stone Harbor Club.
  • Two Bedroom Villa: The two bedroom villa at Beach Club can fit up to eight adults and includes two full bathrooms, full kitchen, living area, dining area, and a washer and dryer.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Sharing several amenities with the Beach Club Resort is its nearby sister resort, Disney's Yacht Club Resort. This New England-style yacht club inspired resort is also located near Disney's BoardWalk and is a short walk away from EPCOT and boat ride to Hollywood Studios. The Yacht Club Resort offers the following suites for groups with five or more guests:

  • Resort or Water View Studios: Guests can choose between resort or water views in Yacht Club's standard rooms which sleep up to five adults.
  • Two Bedroom Club Level Suite: Yacht Club's two bedroom suite can sleep up to six adults and has access to the Stone Harbor Club.

Animal Kingdom Area Deluxe Resorts with Suites

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is located next door to the Animal Kingdom theme park and is the only deluxe level resort near Animal Kingdom. There are two resorts to choose from which include Kidani Village and Jambo House. Both resorts are very similar, with the main differences between each resort being the restaurants. Fortunately, it is fairly easy to walk between these resorts if you wish to dine at either resort regardless of where you stay.

All rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge also have the options between a standard view and savanna view. We HIGHLY recommend the savanna view if you plan on booking a room here, as you can see giraffes, zebras, birds, and other wildlife roaming just outside your balcony!

Animal Kingdom view

The suite options at both Kidani Village and Jambo House include:

  • Villas: Animal Kingdom Lodge offers one bedroom, two bedroom, and three bedroom villas which can comfortably sleep between five and twelve adults.
  • Club Level Rooms and Suites: Kidani Village offers the choice of one or two bedroom villas which sleep between five and eight adults. Jambo House has one, two, and three bedroom villas which sleep between five and twelve guests. Guests of any of these rooms will have exclusive access to the Kilimanjaro Club.

Disney Springs Area Resorts

Disney Springs entrance

There are two deluxe resorts located near Disney Springs which both offer various rooms and suites for groups with five or more guests. Guests staying at either Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort or Disney's Old Key West Resort also have the convenience of using the free Sassagoula Boats to travel to and from Disney Springs.

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort is a large Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort inspired by the horse-racing capital of Saratoga Springs, New York. Saratoga Springs is a located on a very large and beautiful property and is one of the few resorts with both a spa and golf course located on property.

DVC room at Old Key West

The available rooms for larger groups at Saratoga Springs include:

  • Villas: Saratoga Springs has one, two, three bedroom villas which can sleep between five and twelve adults. These villas can have views of the garden, lake, pool, woodlands, or golf fairways located throughout the resort.
  • Treehouse Villa: Similar to the Polynesian's bungalows, Saratoga Springs offers a treehouse villa which has views of the woodlands. The treehouse villa can sleep up to nine adults and includes a full kitchen, living room, dining area, and private patio.

Disney's Old Key West Resort

Old Key West outside

Disney's Old Key West resort is the other deluxe resort located in the Disney Springs area. This beautiful resort is reminiscent of the Florida Keys with shimmering waterways, palm trees, and manicured golf course fairways.

Rooms accommodating groups with five or more guests include:

  • One, Two, or Three Bedroom Villas: To put it simply, the only rooms available for larger groups are Old Key West's villas. These one, two, and three bedroom suites offer views of either water, woodlands, or golf course fairways and can sleep either five, nine, or twelve adults.

Save Money on Deluxe Resort Stays – Renting DVC Points

All of the Disney World deluxe level resorts have rooms that are available for Disney Vacation Club (DVC) bookings. DVC is similar to a timeshare in that members invest and purchase “points” to use to save thousands of dollars on their Disney vacations. DVC resorts are located all over the world including Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

DVC members receive a set amount of points each year that can be used on a room at the various DVC resorts. However, oftentimes members are not able to use all of their points. Therefore, DVC members have the option to “rent” out their points to non-DVC members for purchase. This method of renting points is a great option for non-DVC members to take advantage of the much lower costs of staying at a DVC resort instead of paying full price. We have seen savings of up to 60% for guests on their resort stays by simply renting DVC points! It's a win-win for both the DVC member who can make some money on their DVC points and the purchasers who save hundreds and even thousands on their Disney trip.

Our highest recommended DVC point rental businesses are our partners at DVC Rental Store and David's Vacation Club Rentals. Both are completely safe and legitimate DVC point renters that offer the most secure ways to book your Disney World resort. There are several differences between DVC Rental Store vs David's Vacation Club Rentals, mainly being the price flexibility. DVC Rental Store only requires a 25% deposit for trips books at least 75 days in advance. However, David's Vacation Club Rentals requires a deposit to begin search availability, but typically has the lowest DVC point prices. Both DVC Rental Store and David's Vacation Club Rentals are accredited by the Better Business Bureau.
