On this list, we included some locations that give you a serene escape, areas that you might have overlooked, and locations that you might not even know about.

Carolwood Pacific Room

Carolwood Room

  • Location: Disney's Wilderness Lodge

One of the best hidden rooms at the Disney World hotels is also one of the quietest. Over at Boulder Ridge Villas, the Carolwood Pacific Room is the perfect secluded place to relax on the rocking chairs or couches. You can also sit at one of the small tables and do work. And if you're just passing by, make sure to explore the artifacts in the Carolwood Pacific Room and around the lobby of the Boulder Ridge Villas.

Walking Trail at Wilderness Lodge

Wildernes Lodge trail

  • Location: Disney's Wilderness Lodge

One of my favorite running trails at the Disney World hotels is also a great quiet area to get away from the crowds. With the beautiful Wilderness Lodge buildings on one side and the serene views of Seven Seas Lagoon on the other side, you'll really feel like you've escaped the world. Pro tip: Walk around this area at dusk, when the sun is set and the temperatures are cooler.

Wilderness Lodge Fireplaces

Wilderness Lodge fireplace

  • Location: Disney's Wilderness Lodge

Don't be surprised that Wilderness lodge makes up 3 items on this list, because once you take a step inside its beautiful lobby (which is one of our favorite hotel lobbies at Disney World), you'll understand why. However, make sure to sit by one of the several fireplaces in the lobby. It's quiet, serene, and homey. My personal favorite fireplace: Use the stairs near the lobby restrooms and head up to the second floor where you'll find a fireplace area not many people know about!

Along the Sassagoula River

Sassagoula River

  • Location: Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside

Technically, there are several resorts along the Sassagoula River, but the walkway and courtyards at Port Orleans Resort – Riverside are some of my favorite quiet spots to get away from the crowds. The walkway is best reserved for early mornings or at dusk, when the temperatures are cooler. And if you're looking for an even more secluded area, relax at any of the courtyards of the buildings that make up the resort.

Caribbean Cay

Caribbean Cay

  • Location: Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort

Many guests staying at Caribbean Beach walk through here. Many more guests see from the Disney World Skyliner. Yet almost none of them know how quiet and secluded Caribbean Cay is. In the middle of Barefoot Bay at Caribbean Beach Resort, Caribbean Cay offers picnic tables, hammocks, private seating areas, and short walking paths for you to relax and enjoy.

The Riviera Courtyard

Riviera Courtyard

  • Location: Disney's Riviera Resort

The magnificent Riviera Resort also has a beautiful, quiet area to relax in. This entire area that covers the courtyard and two resort pools is generally quiet all day because of how spread out it is. Even with families enjoying the pools and kiddos exploring the courtyard games, you're bound to find a quiet area to kick back and relax. Pro tip: grab a pastry at Le Petit Cafe or Primo Piatto or grab an adult beverage at Bar Riva before finding your quiet spot of choice

Garden Wing Area

Garden Wing

  • Location: Disney's Contemporary Resort

The Contemporary Resort (especially the 4th floor) always feels like it's loud and busy. However, take a short stroll out of the main tower and toward the Garden Wing and it feels like you've escaped the rest of the world. Here, you'll find a serene beach and walkway overlooking Bay Lake and Fort Wilderness Resort. And if you stay here long enough, you'll get to see the water launch boats drive by you, breaking the beautiful glasslike water of the lake.

Polynesian Resort Beach

Polynesian Resort

  • Location: Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

Much like the main tower of the Contemporary, the lobby at the Polynesian tends to feel quite busy with guests waiting to check in and check out. However, if you head out back toward the beach (especially in the late afternoon), you'll find that the beach along Seven Seas Lagoon is the perfect spot to kick back, relax, and enjoy the sights of Magic Kingdom. It's also one of the larger beaches compared to beaches at the other Disney World hotels, making it easier to spread out and find your own quiet area if there are other guests around.

Pier Along Seven Seas Lagoon

Electrical Water Pageant

  • Location: Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

When you visit the Grand Floridian, you should definitely enjoy the lobby's beauty. However, for a much quieter area, head back toward one of my favorite Disney World hotel lounges and walk onto the pier where the water launch boat dock. There, you'll find one of the quietest spots at the hotel – and some shade! You'll also get fantastic views of Magic Kingdom and the Contemporary Resort as you sit, relax, and take a breath before heading back to the theme parks.

Disney Vacation Club Villas

Grand Floridian DVC Villas

  • Location: Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Personally, I find the lobby of the Grand Floridian to be busy, and the sounds of what's happening in the lobby echo too much for my introverted self. However, if you take a short stroll over to the DVC villas, you'll find that the lobby is often empty and quiet, making it a perfect spot to relax and recharge. While you're there, make sure to take a close look at the Mary Poppins fountain!

Willow Lake

Willow Lake

  • Location: Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort

It is no mistake that most of the quiet places on this list are located next to bodies of water. Over at Saratoga Springs Resort, Willow Lake is the body of water that separates The Paddock and The Springs. It's certainly a great quiet area to walk around and get away from the crowds. But what makes this particular area special is the bridge that allows you to cross the middle of the lake. This long, skinny bridge is the perfect quiet spot to relax and reflect along the water.

Walkway Between Saratoga Springs and Old Key West

Walkway Old Key West Saratoga Springs

  • Location: Between Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Disney's Old Key West Resort

This is the ultimate quiet spot and walkway to get away from the Disney crowds (and one of my favorite running trails at Disney World). This walkway takes you on a trail between Disney's Lake Buena Vista Golf Course and the Sassagoula River, making it a perfect getaway. Having run along this trail many times, this is my go-to spot to unplug from the crowds.

Walkway to Disney Springs

Disney Springs Walkway

  • Location: Between Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort

Saratoga Springs Resort is special because it has several quiet walking trails on which you can enjoy a quiet stroll. This particular walkway takes you from Congress Park, along the waters of Lake Buena Vista, and to the entrance on the Marketplace side of Disney Springs. Not only do you get to enjoy the details evoking the feel of horse racing in upstate New York, but you also get a beautiful view of Disney Springs from across the lake.

The Beach Along Crescent Lake

Crescent Lake Beach

  • Location: Walt Disney World Swan

There are two beaches along Crescent Lake where you can relax, but if I were you, I'd skip the beach at the Beach Club and go straight for the one at the Walt Disney World Swan hotel. Not only does it tend to be less crowded and quieter, but it's also more secluded from the business of the EPCOT resort area, making it a perfect place to get away from the EPCOT crowds.

Java

Java Swan Hotel

  • Location: Walt Disney World Swan

Before you relax at the beach at the Walt Disney World Swan hotel, make sure to go into the hotel and grab a coffee from this hidden cafe. Java is a great spot to grab a variety of coffee drinks, pastries, and sandwiches, but it's also secluded enough to be a perfect quiet area when you want to take a break from the theme parks.

Bell Vue Lounge

Belle Vue Lounge

  • Location: Disney's BoardWalk Inn

As we make our way around the EPCOT resorts, I want to take you to the BoardWalk Inn, where this particular spot is almost always empty during the day time. Make your way from the BoardWalk lobby, under the hippocampus electrolier, and past the clamshell mutascope, and then you'll find yourself in what looks like a sunroom with a bar. After 4pm, Bellvue Lounge is open for guests to enjoy adult beverages, but before 4pm, this quiet spot is perfect to read a book or catch up on work.

Across From Carousel Coffee

Carousel Coffee

  • Location: Disney's BoardWalk Inn

You'd think that this area is generally busy because it's located in the main lobby of the BoardWalk Inn. And yes, in the morning, this area gets a lot of foot traffic as guests hurry in to get their coffee and breakfast before heading out to the theme parks. But after 3:30pm when Carousel Coffee closes and most guests have already checked in, this seating area can get quiet and uninhabited. This means that you get a quiet area to relax, recharge, and get ready for your afternoon and evening plans.

Garden Cottages Courtyard

Garden Cottages

  • Location: Disney's BoardWalk Inn

If you're looking for an quiet outdoor spot with some shade, head past the Bellvue Lounge and out the doors into the courtyard where the Garden Cottages are located. This hidden gem is rarely full of people, making it the perfect place to wander around. There are also several benches where you can sit, read a book, or simply just relax.

Solarium

Solarium

  • Location: Disney's Beach Club Resort

The last quiet spot at the EPCOT resorts is at the Beach Club Resort. Across from Beach Club Marketplace, you'll find another sunroom with several tables and couches. There are also several themed paintings with a few clever Disney touches. This is one of my personal favorite spots to do work or take a midday break from EPCOT.

Animal Viewing Areas

Animal Kingdom viewing area

  • Location: Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge

How could we not mention any of these areas? This is what makes Animal Kingdom Lodge so special: its animal viewing areas that also double as incredible quiet spots to relax and recharge. There are numerous viewing areas, including the main outdoor viewing area on the ground level, the shared outdoor balcony areas from the second floor, and the flamingo viewing area by the pool at Jambo House. You simply cannot go wrong at any of these quiet spots!
