There is a free scavenger hunt in Magic Kingdom called A Pirate’s Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas that is themed to the Pirates of the Caribbean. Anyone can participate in this treasure map-style game and receive a prize once it is completed.

Before the 2020 pandemic, the prize for completing this treasure hunt was a free skip-the-line pass to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.

To participate, guests just need to go to The Crow’s Nest to pick up the secret treasure map and then find all the locations throughout Adventureland to win a prize. You have the choice of using a Magic Band, a Key to the World card, or a special themed Magic Talisman card to find the clues.

Once you’ve completed the scavenger hunt, you turn in your paper and receive a special card to give to the cast member at the Lightning Lane entrance.

There are five missions that take approximately 20 minutes to complete. These missions have no time limit, so you can stop and restart each “raid” throughout the day. The Walt Disney World website page lists specific hours that the game takes place, with most times being from 12 PM to 5 PM daily.

This is a great way for guests to participate in a fun experience for a free Lightning Lane. While the game appears to take about 20 minutes, the average wait time for Pirates of the Caribbean hovers around 30 minutes on most days and even longer on peak afternoons and holidays.

Taking the time to play this game to get on the line with no wait might just be worth it for many families. What a fun activity for your next time visiting Magic Kingdom.
