Disney Ticket Prices Increase Expected Very SOON! When & How to Lock in Lowest Rates NOW

Disney has a fairly predictable timeline of when they increase ticket prices and one that we always monitor closely. The past few years we have seen ticket increases come around the same time which helps us predict what we can expect for this year.

We always recommend buying your tickets early but especially if we foresee a ticket increase on the horizon. This is the best way to plan ahead for any potential price increases but also the best way to save money on Lightning Lane Multi Pass if you add it to your tickets ahead of your visit.

Keep reading for our speculation on when we think the next Disneyland and Walt Disney World ticket increase is coming plus best tips on how to save money on tickets before the increase. We recommend that you book your tickets now to lock in savings.

Will Walt Disney World Raise Ticket Prices?

Disney World cinderella castle

Note: Disneyland increased prices on October 9, 2024, but we still expect a price increase for Disney World, and this is likely only delayed due to the hurricane. Note that you need to book now in order to lock in lower prices for Disney World, as, unlike Disneyland, there is typically no option to book the discounted prices after the price increase takes effect.

For Disneyland, our travel partner Get Away Today, gets to keep selling their exclusive low 2024 prices for a limited time through Monday, October 21—see details about the price increase and how you can lock in lower prices here.

Walt Disney World last raised ticket prices on February 24th 2024 although this increase does not start until 2025. This ticket increase only affects the lowest pried 1-day tickets for Animal Kingdom which will be raised from $109 to $119.

Prior to that, Walt Disney World last raised prices on October 11, 2023 for annual passes and parking along with a big increase to food prices. At that time, Walt Disney World did not increase ticket prices.

It is likely we could also see a ticket increase on multi-day tickets from Walt Disney World in October especially since these ticket prices have remain unchanged the past two rounds of ticket increases. One thing I love about planning a trip to Walt Disney World is how easy it is to bundle your park tickets and hotel. This is a great way to lock in your prices.

When Will Disneyland Raise Ticket Prices?

Matterhorn Bobsleds

Disneyland and the other major theme parks raise their ticket prices usually once a year and the past few years have fallen into a pretty consistent routine.

Note: The Disneyland price increase went into effect on October 9, 2024. You can see our commentary below from before the price increase. See details on the Disneyland price increases here and how you can lock in the previous lower prices through October 21 through Get Away Today.

Disneyland last increased the cost Disneyland tickets, Magic Key passes, and Genie+ (now called Lightning Lane Multi Pass) on October 11, 2023. This last ticket increase was fairly drastic with 5-day park hopper tickets receiving an increase of $80 per ticket. Last year's ticket price increase was the most drastic we've seen in some time but this was after a few years of moderate increase so it did balance things out. I do not expect we will see as drastic of an increase as we did last year.

The previous increase was exactly one year prior on October 11, 2022. So the past two years in a row we have seen the increase come on October 11th which leads me to think we could see an increase on the same exact day this year. Hard to say if Disneyland would repeat the exact same date three years in a row but then again, we saw an increase on October 11th in both 2022 and 2023, so it does seem likely.  In 2023 that day was a Wednesday and in 2022 that day was a Tuesday. This year Oct 11 is a Friday. I don't anticipate that we will get the increase on that date. I would guess that we'll either get it on October 8, 9, 15, or 16.

Around the same time Disney usually also releases some kind of ticket discount promotion to soften the blow of ticket price increases. Last year they released the spring child ticket discount just before they announced price increases. If or when we see a new discount rolled out it will be a good indicator that the price increase is just around the corner.

The Disneyland ticket increase trend has shifted from the beginning of each year to October as we saw in 2023 and 2022. Previous ticket increases took place in mid-February in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, January 2019, and February 2020.

Disneyland Price Increase Timing Makes Sense

Ticket Price Increase

Disneyland is more popular than ever and October at Disneyland is becoming one of the most popular months of the year! Halloween at Disneyland is now one of the most popular holidays with Oogie Boogie Bash tickets selling out each year. The demand for Disneyland is high in the fall which is then followed by the also popular Disneyland Christmas season.

So raising ticket prices in October does make sense when we look ahead of the busy seasons coming up. This is another reason why it's so essential to lock in your prices NOW!

  1. We are elderly and don’t have a cell phone, so how can we take our grandkids to Disney Land? We can’t make advanced reservations etc.

    • You can make reservations online. My recommendation is to call our partner at Get Away Today at the phone number 1 (855) 438-2929 and request the Mickey Visit rate for additional discounts.
