There are also some exciting new additions coming to Disney parks overseas! Here are a couple of the highlights.
A highly anticipated new ride is the new Lion King attraction coming to Disney Adventure World at Disneyland Paris. We have seen a lot of enthusiasm and excitement surrounding this new addition. The description on the updated page shares, “Guests will plunge beneath Pride Rock’s caves to relive iconic scenes from the original Walt Disney Animation Studios film via a thrilling water ride with cutting-edge effects, Audio-Animatronics technology, and a 16-meter drop — one of the park’s largest attractions ever.”

Based on what Disney previously shared, the ride will include iconic songs from the original 1994 animated film, moving through scenes and moments from the story. This will be part of a broader land at the park dedicated to characters and stories from the film, featuring dining, shopping, and character meet and greets. It will debut after the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026. You can see all the details about this expansion here.
There are also some new superhero experiences coming to Stark Expo at Hong Kong Disneyland! And yet again it’s the overseas parks that get the best rides. My six year old self is furious that the Lion King ride isn’t coming to the states. THIS is what Splash mountain should have become.
While I also wish we were getting a Lion King ride here, the placement in Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom wouldn’t have made the most sense. Maybe (hopefully?) we’ll get a different Lion King ride here.
