Walt Disney World is home to over two dozen hotels, and the destination will add another to its ranks next year. Disney just revealed new details about this upcoming hotel with unique accommodations.
Currently under construction near Magic Kingdom, a new Disney hotel will offer lakefront rooms and houses with fireworks views. Disney Lakeshore Lodge New Details
Disney Lakeshore Lodge will be a new Walt Disney World hotel located along Bay Lake near Magic Kingdom. The hotel was first announced in 2024, and Disney has now shared new details, including the concept art pictured above.
We now know Lakeshore Lodge will have 967 rooms of various types, including traditional hotel rooms and multi-room villas. Close to the water, Disney will offer one- and two-bedroom Lake Houses, similar to the bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

Disney also just shared that Lakeshore Lodge will open in summer 2027. Previously, the only announced timeframe was 2027 in general, so this specificity should help future guests plan their vacations.
Lakeshore Lodge is inspired by “Walt Disney’s lifelong admiration for the great outdoors,” Disney says. The hotel “will pay tribute to decades of animated stories rooted in nature,” including 1942’s Bambi, 1995’s Pocahontas, and 2003’s Brother Bear.
The inclusion of Brother Bear is especially appropriate, considering the movie was created at Walt Disney World by the former Orlando satellite branch of Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Disney originally announced this project as Reflections – A Lakeside Lodge nearly a decade ago, but later changed plans to the Lakeshore Lodge concept. Comparing the old concept art for Reflections to the just-revealed concept art for Lakeshore Lodge, we can see how the exterior designs are very similar, but not identical.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge is located on the former site of an abandoned water park. Given its location, many rooms will have views of Magic Kingdom’s nightly fireworks. Read more about the history of this property and the construction starts and stops of Reflections here.
Lakeshore Lodge will be part of Disney Vacation Club (DVC). Like all DVC hotels, we expect guests will still be able to stay at Lakeshore Lodge even if they are not DVC members.
Hotel Changes Across Disney World
Several hotel properties at Walt Disney World are in the middle of, or are about to begin, major renovations. These include two waterfront resorts near Lakeshore Lodge.
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will refurbish its guest rooms later this year, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will complete a six-year transformation in early 2027, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort will finish a sweeping slate of changes in late 2027.
