New Disney Junior & Friends Playdate Weekend Coming To Disneyland

Disneyland has announced that there will be a three-day Disney Junior & Friends Playdate event celebrating the Disney Junior shows! Disney Junior, designed for kids ages 2-7, provides engaging entertainment and early math, language, and social skills in its programming. Young fans of the Disney Junior shows will be able to see their favorite characters come to life in this upcoming event.

The Disney Junior & Friends Playdate Event, designed for young Disney Junior fans and their families, will feature parties, a parade, appearances from Disney Junior characters, and more. The events will take place at Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney on different dates and provide unique offerings, which we will break down below. Disney Junior & Friends Playdate Event at Disney California Adventure

At Disney California Adventure, the Disney Junior & Friends Playdate event will take place on Friday, August 18th. Offerings during the celebration will include:

• A Playdate Party Parade that will feature favorite Disney characters and Disney Junior characters, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First, Elena of Avalor, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Vampirina, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Goofy, Pluto, and Mira, Royal Detective
• A stage show at the Hollywood Backlot Stage, “Disney Junior Live! Playdate,” that will show the premiere of Disney Junior’s new short-form series “Playdate with Winnie the Pooh.”
• “Alice’s Wonderland Bakery Unbirthday Party” at the Hollywood Backlot Stage will provide younger guests with an engaging cupcake-decorating course
  • This show has previously been offered as part of the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival

• A photo wall inspired by “Spidey and his Amazing Friends” at the Hollywood Backlot
• A Playdate Play Zone with character experiences where you can see Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck, Doc McStuffins, Vampirina, Goofy and Pluto, and Pooh and Tigger. • Special food and beverage offerings for the event, including:
  • Honey Pot Caramel Apple and Tigger Marshmallow Tail from Trolley Treats

• The Disney Junior Dance Party, a 30-minute show with Disney Junior characters featuring song, dance, and bubbles in the air
• A find-and-search experience featuring Disney Junior-themed clues

Disney Junior & Friends Playdate Event at Downtown Disney

At Downtown Disney, the Disney Junior & Friends event will take place on Saturday, August 19th and Sunday, August 20th. Highlights of the event will include:

• A “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” photo wall
• A Playdate Play Zone and arts & crafts activities
• Disney Junior-themed treats at Marceline’s Confectionary, including a Honey Pot Caramel Apple and Tigger Marshmallow Tail
• Live Entertainment at the Downtown Disney Live! Stage
• A find-and-search experience featuring Disney Junior-themed clues
