There are several ride closures planned in July for both Disneyland and Disney World. Some of these ride closures are for planned ride overhauls to update older attractions, and some closures are planned for routine maintenance. See all the May Disney ride closures here and June changes here.
The good news is that the springtime refurbishments are starting to wind down, and more rides are now open. It is important to note that any dates listed here are subject to change, and there is always the possibility of more attractions closing for changes or general refurbishment. Disneyland Ride Closures for July 2026
Disneyland's ride closures include some popular attractions closed in July. Many do not have confirmed reopening dates.

Silly Symphony Swings closed on April 27, and it still has no set reopening date.
Frontierland Shooting' Exposition is scheduled to close July 6, and no current reopening date has been announced.
King Arthur Carrousel, the traditional merry-go-round in Fantasyland and named after the hero from The Sword in the Stone, is scheduled to close on July 6 and reopen on July 16.
Also closing in Fantasyland is the popular thrill ride Matterhorn Bobsleds. This closure is scheduled for just a few days, with the ride closing on July 20 and reopening on July 23.
The popular quick-service Cozy Cone Motel stands in Cars Land in Disney California Adventure are all scheduled for staggered closures in July:
- July 6 and 7: Cone 2 (Ice Cream Cones) and Cone 5 (Popcone) closed
- July 8: Cone 3 (Chili Cone Queso) closed
- July 9 and 10: Cone 1 (Churros), Cone 3 (Chili Cone Queso), and Cone 4 (Frozen Cone-coctions) closed
All cones are expected to be open again on July 11.
Looking ahead to August, the Haunted Mansion is scheduled for its annual closure to transform for its seasonal overlay on August 8, with the attraction reopening on August 20 as Haunted Mansion Holiday.
Disney World Ride Closures for July 2026
Carousel of Progress in Magic Kingdom is closing on July 6 for a major overhaul of the ride's timeline, with the story of the ride shifting forward by 60 years. The new version of the attraction will reopen sometime in 2027.
The previous Animation Courtyard area in Hollywood Studios is closed for its reimagining into The Walt Disney Studios, which will partially reopen later this summer. Currently, the courtyard and Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! are open. The experiences inside Magic of Disney Animation will reopen later this summer.
The Walt Disney World Railroad is currently operating under a modified route that excludes the Frontierland station, with the train operating in “shuttle mode” between Main Street station and Fantasyland station. The train will remain in this “shuttle mode” for the next few years while work continues on Piston Peak, the new Cars-inspired land, and Villains Land.
Looking ahead to September, Typhoon Lagoon will be closing for seasonal maintenance on September 9. Blizzard Beach will remain open.
