Classic Fantasyland Ride Closing for Refurbishment
King Arthur Carrousel, the traditional merry-go-round in Fantasyland at Disneyland Park named after the hero from The Sword in the Stone, will close for refurbishment this summer.

The closure will begin on July 6, 2026. The final day to ride King Arthur Carrousel before the refurbishment is July 5. The closure starts just after July 4th weekend.
Disney has not specified a reason for the closure, so we assume it is related to routine maintenance and overall upkeep, a priority for Disneyland teams this year.
A reopening date for King Arthur Carrousel has not been announced. It is common for Disneyland rides to close for refurbishment without a timeline revealed to the public. For example, Pirates of the Caribbean closed in early May, and Disney has not announced the ride’s reopening date.

King Arthur Carrousel Popcorn Bucket
King Arthur Carrousel recently received the star treatment of modern-day Disney fandom: its own popcorn bucket. The elaborate novelty spins and plays music, displaying the story of Sleeping Beauty as it appears on the ride.
The popcorn bucket is exclusively available to Magic Key annual passholders, who can purchase it at Alien Pizza Planet in Tomorrowland for $38.
