Disney California Adventure Walkway Closing for Extended Period as Construction Gets Underway

Construction for the Avengers Campus expansion in Disney California Adventure is currently underway, and the major project will double the size of the land with two new rides. So far, the most notable impacts of the construction have been the closure of the Red Car Trolley and the Avengers Assemble show, and we also recently got news that runDisney events will be on hiatus early next year due to construction impacts at the resort. Now, we have news that a walkway will be closed in Disney California Adventure for an extended period of time due to construction.

Avengers Campus Walkway Closure

Starting on Tuesday, April 29, the walkway between Avengers Campus and Cars Land will be closed due to construction. It is expected to stay closed until next summer as they work on a new restroom facility and other Avengers Campus construction.

We rarely see this walkway extremely crowded, but it is a convenient way to move between the lands without having to go all the way back up the Cars Land street to loop around to the Avengers Campus entrance. We have also sometimes seen meet-and-greets near this entrance to Avengers Campus in the past. The move to introduce a new restroom facility makes sense, as this area will be right in front of where the huge expansion is coming.

The Avengers Campus expansion will double the size of the land with a major new e-ticket Avengers ride and a new ride inspired by Iron Man.
