Crystal Palace Character Dining Review
I enjoyed the Crystal Palace character dining in Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day which was a great way to spend our brunch.
The Crystal Palace is inspired by Victorian greenhouses of the late 1800s with glass ceilings, topiaries, and tropical palms. It is located at the end of Main Street, U.S.A. and faces Cinderella's Castle.
The characters featured at this character dining are Winnie the Pooh and friends which included Winnie the Pooh, Eyeore, Tigger, and Piglet. There were banners hung that read, “Welcome to our Friendship Day Celebration!” which is a celebration straight from the Winnie the Pooh stories.
Every so often the characters will parade through the restaurant in celebration of Friendship Day with balloons, pinwheels, and a flag reading Hunny.
The breakfast buffet was plentiful and offered all the traditional Disney classics like Mickey waffles, pancakes, hash browns, eggs, pastries, cereal, fruit, etc. But there was also a decent variety of other options like biscuits and gravy, roast beef hash, tofu curry, frittatas, and more. Everything was fresh and delicious.
Since we dined around 11AM, we were present during the switch over to lunch so if we wanted to we could have grabbed lunch options as well but by then we had filled up on Mickey waffles! If you want the best of both words, you can time your reservation so you're there to experience both the breakfast and lunch options.
You can also order cocktails, wine, beer and other speciality drinks at an additional cost. Regular beverages options are included in your buffet price which includes soda, juice, coffee, milk, etc.
The characters will circle the restaurant and cast members make sure they hit every table. So don't worry about missing the characters, you're free to get up and get your food. If they come around and you're not at the table, they will be back! We easily saw all the characters without having to worry and they spent a decent time with each table we noticed.
The characters and cast members at the restaurant were fantastic, it was a great dining experience. It felt very organized and we were also provided with a postcard with all the character autographs.
Overall, I would do this character breakfast again especially since it is the only one inside Magic Kingdom. The atmosphere of the restaurant is beautiful, the food was delicious, and I love the Winnie the Pooh characters. It was also a perfect way to celebrate a holiday which for us was Christmas morning at Walt Disney World.
