Later this week, the biennial D23 Expo will take place in Anaheim. This event is the biggest Disney fan convention in the world, featuring evening shows where we expect to hear some major announcements for Disneyland and Disney World along with various panels, presentations, and more. One of the biggest changes for this year's event is that the major evening presentations will be held at the Honda Center due to its larger capacity.
Due to the scale and layout of the event, some areas of Anaheim will be impacted during the event's duration. The transportation for D23 is set up this year in a way that will impact the ART Shuttles that many guests take to get to Disneyland as well as an important parking lot. Keep reading for more details on what to expect later this week during the D23 Expo if you have a visit planned.
If you are attending this year's event, see our full guide to D23 for everything you need to know. We will be reporting from this year's D23 Expo with details on all of the big announcements as they come in.

The 2024 D23 Expo will take place this week from August 9-11, 2024. Before the events of the weekend kick off, there will also be a special D23 Day at the Disneyland Resort with a variety of special offerings you can read about here.
Guests who are not attending the event this weekend will want to stay aware of what is happening in the area as a huge number of event attendees will be traveling between the Anaheim Convention Center, where the daytime panels and experiences take place, and the Honda Center, where the nighttime programming will take place.
D23 recently shared information on transportation for the event. The ART Shuttle, which connects several of the Anaheim area hotels to Disneyland, will be offering additional routes to/from select area hotels to/from the ARTIC Station before and after the Honda Center evening programming. In general, you'll want to be prepared for heavy traffic on the route between the Convention Center and Honda Center during this weekend with shuttles running. If you are staying at a hotel within comfortable walking distance of Disneyland, we recommend walking to the parks if you can to avoid the ART Shuttle during the days of the D23 event from the 9th through the 11th.
In particular the transportation and route will be most impacted in the early evening on Friday and Saturday between 5 pm and 7 pm and on Sunday between 3 pm and 5 pm when people are headed to Honda Center for the presentations and after the presentations at the Honda Center end later in the evenings.
If you were planning on parking at the Toy Story Parking Lot located on Harbor Boulevard near the Anaheim Convention Center, be prepared that it will be much more crowded than usual. Toy Story Parking Lot will also be the site of a special rideshare dropoff and pickup location during the event (as marked on the map below), further crowding this spot. If you're driving in for the day, we recommend parking in one of the other two lots closest to Disneyland instead and taking the tram service to the Esplanade between the parks—see everything you need to know about Disneyland parking here.

Generally crowds at the theme parks are also expected to be higher this week as we indicate in our Disneyland crowd calendar. The weekend days during the actual convention are not expected to be busy, but the days leading up to and the days after are going to be packed. In fact, the day after the convention is one of the highest rated crowd dates of the summer.
