Disneyland Hosting Fan Party For All Featuring Disney Legends, Freebies, Disney Junior, and More

The largest Disney fan convention, D23, is coming up in a few short weeks, and with it will come some major announcements we're expecting for the parks. This year, before the event kicks off from August 9-11, fans can start the weekend with the first-ever D23 Day at Disneyland Resort.

D23 Day will include a variety of special offerings across the resort, including complimentary Mickey Mouse ear hats, Disney Jr. offerings, and much more. These special D23 Day offerings will not only be available to D23 members—all park guests will have the opportunity to enjoy them!

D23 Day at Disneyland Special Offerings

D23 Day will be held on Thursday, August 8, before the D23 event that weekend. All guests with valid theme park admission and a park reservation can access these offerings, including D23 members and those attending the D23 event.

Here are the offerings that guests can look forward to:

• A limited quantity of complimentary Mickey Mouse ear hats featuring the D23 Day at Disneyland Resort logo will be distributed to guests entering Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure
• There will be a themed cavalcade at 12:15 pm in Disneyland Park featuring the Disneyland Band, 23 characters, and select Disney Legends!
• There will be limited-time appearances from characters like Goofy and Max from Goof Troop in Toontown and Lotso from Toy Story 3 in Pixar Pier

• There will be a dance party at Tomorrowland Terrace hosted by Stitch and other Disney characters from 1-6 pm. Then, at certain times between 7-11 pm, the group Suburban Legends will play live music.
• A new merchandise collection celebrating the 25th anniversary of Tarzan will debut on August 8. It will be available for a limited time at Disneyana at Disneyland Park, Off the Page at Disney California Adventure, and WonderGround Gallery at Downtown Disney.
• There will also be special apparel and items celebrating the first D23 Day at Disneyland Resort. From August 8-11, Guests can collect four new medallions featuring the D23 Day at Disneyland Resort logo on one side and Disneyland Resort artwork on the other. These will be available for purchase at Candy Palace and Candy Kitchen in Disneyland Park, Kingswell Shop at Disney California Adventure, and near the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage and lawn.
• On August 8, all guests will be able to enjoy complimentary unlimited digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos taken that day. There will also be a special Magic Shot available that day as well.
• Additional offerings include photo locations, illusion art installations at Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney District, and a collectible commemorative guide with “23 recommended activities and details to discover.”

D23 Day Disney Jr. Offerings in Disney California Adventure

Also on D23 Day, guests can enjoy the Disney Jr. Let’s Play! Party in Disney California Adventure, which will highlight favorite Disney Jr. characters and stories from series like “Disney Jr.’s Ariel,” “Mickey Mouse Funhouse,” “SuperKitties” and more.

There will also be a special parade of Disney Jr. characters that day. At 10:30 am, Disney Jr. characters will participate in a parade with “dynamic drummers and dressed-out vehicles.” Disney Jr.'s Ariel will be making her Disney Parks debut during a special, one-day appearance on August 8.

Hollywood Land will have a “Disney Jr.’s Ariel” arts and crafts area. At the Hollywood Backlot Stage, there will be a series of live performances inviting audiences to dance and sing along with Disney Junior characters. Kids will also be able to decorate cupcakes as part of “Confection Purrfection with the SuperKitties.” Guests will also be able to greet Disney Jr. characters like Winnie the Pooh, Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First, and more.

D23 Downtown Disney Offerings

From August 4-11, select locations at Downtown Disney will have special offerings for D23 members who show their D23 Event Badge or D23 Membership card.

At Downtown Disney, there will be special happy hour events at Naples Ristorante e Bar on Aug. 9 and Aug. 10, from 3-5 p.m. You can see details and how to book through this link.

From August 9-11, the Disney Jr. Let’s Play! Party will be featured at Downtown Disney from 1-4 pm. At the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage, there will be entertainment including a DJ leading dance parties with Disney Jr. music, live performances featuring favorite Disney Jr. characters, and a bubble show inspired by “Disney Jr.’s Ariel.” Performance times will be available on the Disneyland app closer to the date. There will also be crafts available inspired by the live performances and “Disney Jr.’s Ariel.”

Starting August 8 while supplies last, Create Your Own Headbands will be back at Disneyland at The Mad Hatter on Main Street, U.S.A., in Disneyland Park, and Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff in Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure.
