10. Expedition Everest- 2 Minutes 50 Seconds

Located at Animal Kingdom, Expedition Everest takes the number 10 spot on our list, lasting 2 minutes and 50 seconds in ride duration. This roller coaster takes guests on an exhilarating journey through the Himalayan mountains at speeds up to 50 miles per hour and includes a backward motion feature when the ride car’s front-facing track ends, and guests then find themselves moving backward down a two-track system through a mountain.

Expedition Everest features a Yeti animatronic and a thrilling 80-foot drop. Even though the ride lasts under 3 minutes in total, the ride’s front-facing and backward motions make the ride a thrilling and enjoyable experience.

9. Slinky Dog Dash- 2 Minutes

Located at Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios, Slinky Dog Dash takes guests on a family-friendly ride through Andy’s backyard. This roller coaster is sure to bring fun to the whole family as its gentle thrill level, accompanied by its enjoyable Toy Story theming, makes it a favorite ride for many and a great option for a first roller coaster experience. 

The coaster uses dual launches throughout the ride, including a slingshot motion experience. The ride stands 50 feet tall and serves as the center of Toy Story Land. With its smooth ride and friendly theming, this roller coaster is sure to be enjoyed by all.

8. Astro Orbiter- (Tie) 1 Minute 30 Seconds

Since its original opening as StarJets in 1974 and later reimagined to Astro Orbiter in 1994, this attraction has served as a fan favorite of guests of Magic Kingdom. Located in the heart of Tomorrowland, Astro Orbiter lifts guests 60 feet above ground as 2 passenger spacecraft orbit a galaxy of planets.

Astro Orbiter is a gentle ride that is sure to please guests, as this attraction brings a wonderful view of Tomorrowland. Astro Orbiter recently underwent a 6-month refurbishment, closing in January of 2025 and reopening in June. 

7. Dumbo the Flying Elephant- (Tie) 1 Minute 30 Seconds

Based on the beloved 1941 film, Dumbo the Flying Elephant has served as a Disney World staple since the Magic Kingdom’s opening on October 1, 1971. Guests are able to enjoy a pleasurable ride in Storybook Circus as 2 passengers are able to board Dumbo and fly in a circular motion for the 1-minute and 30-second ride experience.

Passengers are able to control the height at which their Dumbo flies, making this a fun attraction for kids. This ride is also a great option for a first ride experience, as its gentle thrill level is sure to bring fun for the whole family.

6. Mad Tea Party- (Tie) 1 Minute 30 Seconds

Located in Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland, Mad Tea Party has been a fan favorite since the park’s opening in 1971. In this attraction, guests are able to spin around in a giant teacup, inspired by Mad Hatter’s party in Walt Disney’s classic film Alice in Wonderland. 

This attraction is sure to bring a fun experience for all as guests are able to turn the cup quickly, spinning faster, or turn the cup slowly, or not even turn at all, making for a more gentle ride experience. With no specific height requirement, this attraction makes for a good first ride experience for children.

5. Magic Carpets of Aladdin- (Tie) 1 Minute 30 Seconds

Located in the center of Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland, Magic Carpets of Aladdin provides a fun and relaxing ride aboard Aladdin’s Magic Carpet. Based on the hit 1992 film, and opened as a gentle thrill level attraction in 2001, Magic Carpets bring a joyful ride to guests of all ages. 

With no height requirements, this ride makes for a good option for a first ride experience and mimics the motions of the Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction. A unique part of this ride is that the shops nearby are themed to Agrabah’s marketplace from the Aladdin film.

4. Alien Swirling Saucers- (Tie) 1 Minute 30 Seconds

Since its opening in 2018, Alien Swirling Saucers has served as a crowd favorite for guests of Hollywood Studios. Located in Toy Story Land, Alien Swirling Saucers is a ride sure to be enjoyed by guests of all ages. There is a height requirement of 32 inches with this attraction, as its thrill level is moderate, but this attraction is sure to bring fun for the whole family. 

In this attraction, guests board an alien saucer flown by the aliens of the beloved Toy Story film franchise and are taken on a fun and moderately exhilarating ride, spinning through the galaxy. One of the most unique aspects of this ride is the 14-foot-tall Buzz Lightyear statue at the ride’s entrance.

3. Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster- 1 Minute 22 Seconds

Located at Hollywood Studios, Rock’ n’ Roller Coaster (currently starring Aerosmith and soon to be starring the Muppets in Summer 2026) is a high-speed roller coaster that launches guests in a super-stretch limo 0-57 miles per hour in 2.8 seconds. Guests of Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster experience 5 Gs of force in the coaster’s initial launch and experience a thrill of twists, turns, and three different inversions throughout the ride’s 1 minute and 22 second duration. 

The attraction is entirely indoors in a dark area with music and immersive concert theming as the super-stretch limo takes its guests to a concert in downtown Los Angeles. With the conversion from Aerosmith to the Muppets in Summer 2026, theming of the ride is sure to change; however, the ride itself will remain as it is in its current state. 

2. TRON Lightcycle/Run- 1 Minute 5 Seconds

Located in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland, guests experience an interactive and immersive ride experience themed to the TRON films as they embark on a 0-59 miles per hour launch in roughly 4 seconds. TRON Lightcycle/Run embraces theming from the TRON films throughout the ride as guests enjoy an indoor launch with a brief trip outdoors in the ride’s pavilion and then back into the attraction’s main building, where guests experience the race of dueling lightcycles as they cheer on Team Blue to victory over Team Orange. 

Guests experience “The Grid” as if they are immersed in one of the TRON films throughout the ride. This high-speed coaster is sure to please thrill-seekers and has been the perfect addition to Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland since the ride’s inception in 2023. There is a height requirement of 48 inches for this ride, as its thrill level can be considered quite intense. For a limited time, guests can experience this ride in its TRON: Ares overlay (which displays a red canopy and updated audio), which debuted in September 2025 to celebrate the newest TRON film’s release.

1. Barnstormer- 1 Minute 3 Seconds

The Barnstormer is a family-friendly junior roller coaster located in Magic Kingdom’s Storybook Circus. Opened in 1996, the Barnstormer has served as a great option for a first roller coaster experience for many. With a height requirement of 35 inches, guests of all ages are able to board this fun stunt plane and become part of The Great Goofini’s aerial act.

With a maximum height drop of 20 feet and a maximum speed of 20 miles per hour, this junior coaster is sure to be enjoyed by all. With small dips and a quick and fairly gentle ride experience, the Barnstormer is sure to bring fun for the whole family.
