Disneyland Ride Height Requirements For All Rides With Restrictions

If you're planning a visit to Disneyland Resort with children, it's a good idea to review the Disneyland ride height requirements ahead of time. It's best to just avoid the rides that your children cannot go on, rather than listing those they can't ride because they're not tall enough. Focus on the rides they can enjoy, and it will make your entire trip much more fun. There are plenty of incredible rides at Disneyland with height requirements that guests of any age can enjoy!

This guide will provide the height requirements for Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure rides and attractions so everyone can enjoy their time spent in the parks.

Why Does Disneyland Have Ride Height Requirements?

Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout!

Disney has height requirements to keep all of its guests safe on certain rides, especially more intense thrill rides with lots of motion. While it can be disappointing if your child is not tall enough to experience an attraction, it's important to remember that the height requirements exist for a reason, and trying to get around them can put your child in unnecessary danger.

Disneyland is strict on its height requirements—if you are not tall enough, even if you waited for an hour in line, you will not ride. It's important to familiarize yourself with these height requirements beforehand so that you are prepared.

Before your visit, measure your children at home with a standard tape measure. Make sure they are standing up straight with their back to the wall, wearing the shoes that they will have on at the parks. Then, you'll have your child's height at the ready and can prepare for which rides they might not be tall enough for.

If you have a child who is not tall enough to ride a certain attraction, see our guide to Disneyland Rider Switch for everything you need to know. Using this service, an adult supervising guest can wait with a child who does not meet the height requirement, then board the ride without having to wait in line again.

Disneyland is designed to have experiences for guests of all ages, and there are dozens of great attractions that have no height requirement. See our guides to Disneyland with toddlers for a full list of these attractions without a height requirement.

Below, we will break down the height requirements for both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.
