Scheduled refurbishments of Walt Disney World rides and restaurants can change as Disney evaluates the scope of a project or considers how the closure affects other park areas. We’ve been following one upcoming closure closely since it was first announced and then later changed. It’s now changed yet again, but we’re more confident that it will stick this time.

On October 6, 2026, Disney announced that the Rose & Crown Dining Room, a table service restaurant in EPCOT’s United Kingdom Pavilion, would close for refurbishment on February 15, 2027, and reopen sometime in spring 2027. Disney also said at that point that the Rose & Crown Pub, the restaurant’s attached bar, would remain open. This news didn’t stay true for long.
On October 7, Disney amended the refurbishment notice to say that the Rose & Crown Dining Room and the Rose & Crown Pub would close for refurbishment on January 11, 2027, and reopen later in the year.
On October 8, the refurbishment announcement was removed from Disney’s website, with no closure notices displayed at all on the restaurant and bar’s landing pages.
This all brings us up to speed to today, October 13, when Disney added the second version of the refurbishment notice back to the Disney World website. As of this writing, the Rose & Crown Dining Room and the Rose & Crown Pub will both be closed for refurbishment at EPCOT starting on January 11, 2027, and they will reopen “later in 2027”.

We are more confident in the closure notice this time because Disney also added the announcement to the landing pages for the Rose & Crown Fireworks Dining Package and the Rose & Crown Musician, both of which will be unavailable during the refurbishment. See our review of the Rose & Crown Fireworks Dining Package, which pairs a meal at the restaurant with access to a special viewing area for Luminous The Symphony of Us, EPCOT’s nighttime spectacular.
Many guests flock to the Rose & Crown for its fish and chips. These will continue to be served during the refurbishment, as always, at Yorkshire County Fish Shop, a nearby walk-up window with outdoor seating.
Rose & Crown isn’t the only noteworthy Disney World dining refurbishment.
Scat Cat’s Club – Café and Scat Cat’s Club – Lounge both closed for refurbishment at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter on October 6. The Café will reopen in December 2026, followed by the Lounge in January 2027. During the closure, the Café’s signature beignets are available at the nearby counter service restaurant, Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, and a temporary bar is located in the lobby nearby.
Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace has been closed at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort since April 2026. This is the outdoor patio counterpart to the indoor Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, which remains open.
