As thousands of theme park guests funnel through Walt Disney World‘s attraction queues each day, routine safety instructions are relayed through the intercom system. Some of these are prerecorded, and others are spoken aloud in real time by a working cast member. One of these spiels was just changed from a live cast member to a recording at a favorite Disney World thrill ride. This follows the recent replacement of a live cast member with an Audio-Animatronics figure in the same park.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Pre-Show Spiel Removed
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets debuted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios earlier this year as a permanent replacement for the former Aerosmith version of this classic Disney coaster.

As guests shuffle into the final room of the queue and enter the preshow, a cast member speaking into a microphone previously instructed riders to move all the way into the room. This is a standard Disney attraction announcement, encouraging guests to fill in all available space for the sake of filling the room’s allotted capacity and keeping the line outside moving as swiftly as possible, along with a few other reminders.
As of September 2026, the announcement in the room before the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster preshow is a prerecorded message.
It’s still the same information, saying, “Welcome to G-Force Records! In just a moment, you’ll be heading into our largest recording studio. Please stand behind the yellow line. When the studio doors open toward you, please step carefully and fill in all the available space. Please do not sit or stand on the handrails, and as a courtesy to the band, please no flash photos or video lighting inside Studio C.”
WDWNT reported the news and also pointed out similar changes from live announcements to voiceovers in recent years for Zootopia: Better Zoogether! at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Country Bear Musical Jamboree at Magic Kingdom.
It’s important to point out that this change likely doesn’t eliminate a job. The live message was previously communicated by the same cast member responsible for asking guests how many people were in their party and filling up the preshow space with the appropriate number of guests. That cast member is still present in the queue.
The voice of the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster safety announcement sounds friendly and informative, like a typical Disney customer service persona. It’s not themed as any Muppets character.
This differs from the audio announcements at earlier points in the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster queue, in which various Muppets explain what the attraction is and the safety requirements for riding. These include some pretty deep cuts from the Muppets roster, including Yolanda the Rat and Joe the Legal Weasel.

Elsewhere in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a defunct attraction, The Magic of Disney Animation, just reopened after a 10-year hiatus. The previous version included a drawing class instructed by a live cast member. The updated incarnation of that offering is Olaf Draws!, which replaces the human with an Audio-Animatronics figure of Olaf from Frozen and prerecorded videos of real Disney animators and directors.
