However, we always recommend bringing a larger tote bag in addition to these, as they fill up quite quickly.

We also have a look at the full map for Oogie Boogie Bash 2026, which lays out where you can find all the special character interactions and treat trails for popular Villains. There are a few changes to the layout of the event this year, which we note in the list below.

California Adventure character line

This year the longest line, again, was the character interaction for the Sanderson Sisters across from The Little Mermaid. You can see a photo of this line above. This is where most guests ran to first.

The other side of the map includes PhotoPass information along with food and drink information. Oogie Boogie features a full lineup of exclusive park foods and treats.

Now let’s get into all the new changes for this year’s Oogie Boogie Bash!

1. New Merchandise Released for 2026

New merchandise was also released for the 2026 Oogie Boogie Bash, which included a new set of Minnie Mouse ears and this tote bag.

A new Oogie Boogie-themed hat and this set of pins were also available.

This year also included a new hoodie and jersey. The Oogie Boogie Bash merchandise is always popular, and you will see long lines at the start of the event for it, especially for the pins.

2. New Popular Disney Villain Added

Yzma Oogie Boogie Bash

This year featured a new villain, YZMA from The Emperor’s New Groove. While we love to see this popular character added to the lineup, our experience was that YZMA was just ok! We wanted her to be more interactive.

The interaction wasn’t terrible, but she’s far more hilarious in the movie than she was in the parks. We could see them amping up her character attitude based on all the comments on videos of this new character on social media. See our video of the character on Instagram below and be sure to give us a follow.

3. New Popcorn Buckets for Oogie Boogie Bash

Popcorn Bucket

We also saw the release of two new popcorn buckets for the event, including this Mickey Mouse popcorn bucket and Headless Horseman popcorn bucket.

Find the Headless Horseman during the party at Hollywood Lounge, Popcorn at Grizzly Peak Airfield, Popcorn at Pixar Pier, Popcorn near Carthay Circle Restaurant, Select Outdoor Vending Locations, Smokejumpers Grill, and Smokejumpers Grill Seasonal Novelty Release.

Find the Mickey Mouse popcorn bucket throughout both theme parks during both the party and normal theme park days.

4. Fan Favorite Character Interaction Moved

Disney Stepsisters

One of our favorite character interactions, Cinderella’s stepsisters, Anastasia and Drizella, was moved to in front of Carthay Circle. This was a different location for them over by the fountains vs. the Treat Trails. Great to see they kept them as this is a wonderful interaction.

5. Sugar Free Candy Box Added to Free Treat Options

The different treat trails have additional options beyond the standard candy that is included there. In previous years there has been packaged fresh fruit.

This year we didn’t see any of the fruit (prepackaged apples or grapes), but we did see dried cranberries, Goldfish, and beef sticks. There’s also a new “sugar-free” box added next to the allergy-friendly one, giving guests more options than just candy.

6. Haunted Mansion Street Party Replaced Halloween Parade

Street Parade haunted mansion

The new Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party was a hit, and everyone seemed to be loving it! We loved this new addition to the event, which replaced the Frightfully Fun Parade this year. It was fun and upbeat. This was the major change of the party.

Disney really put on a fantastic show. Madame Leota led the celebration with a spirited séance, dancing ghosts, familiar Haunted Mansion scenes, and a special appearance by Constance Hatchaway. There are different dance numbers and show stop moments as the street party moves down the parade route.

The cavalcade takes place at 8:05 pm starting at the Little Mermaid attraction and again at 10:15 pm near Guardians going the opposite direction. The Headless Horseman ride during the parade route happens at 7:45 pm and 10:05 pm before the street party.

The offering has fewer floats than a full parade. It replaces the party’s previous Frightfully Fun Parade. They made the change to accommodate construction backstage for Disneyland’s new upcoming Coco ride.

You can read more about this new street party in our first look at the offering.

7. Two Villains on One Treat Trail

Yzma and Maleficient

Another change this year was seeing two different villains sharing one Treat Trail. Both YZMA and Maleficent shared the Treat Trail on the Grizzly Peak Trail. This is a good way to see two villains at once by combining them on one trail. Especially since these two are very popular.

8. New Magic Key Photo Op and Free Sticker Pack

Magic Key photo op

This year also included a special photo op themed to The Emperor’s New Groove plus a free sticker pack! This is such a popular Disney film among fans, so it’s great to see more representation of it in the parks both with the YZMA character and these free Magic Key perks.

The highlight of this year’s event seems to be Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party, so we recommend prioritizing seeing this new entertainment option. This is a great way to keep the event fresh, especially since nights seem to be selling out slower than in past years.
