Disney’s First Coco Ride
The dazzling Land of the Dead as imagined by Pixar artists in 2017’s Coco will be brought to life in a new boat ride opening at Disney California Adventure, featuring Miguel, Dante, Héctor, and more favorites from the film.
This family-friendly attraction will feature next-generation Audio-Animatronics, and Walt Disney Imagineers are comparing the ride to classics like Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean, so expectations are very high.

Disney just announced Coco 2 is in development, and they shared that Imagineers are working with Pixar to make sure the attraction has nods to both the original and upcoming film.
The new ride promises to “celebrate all the things we love about Coco, highlighting the characters, music, Mexican culture, and the love of a family that’s passed down through the generations.”
The ride takes place a year after the events of the original film, and the queue, starting in Pixar Pier next to Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, invites guests into a “casa museo” dedicated to the music of Héctor Rivera. In the queue, guests will see a statue of Héctor Rivera, Miguel’s great-great-grandfather, who wrote the music that Ernesto de la Cruz stole and made famous, including the song “Remember Me.” Once on the ride, guests will go on a boat ride through Miguel’s memories of the Land of the Dead.
The other notable news Disney shared is that the ride will have no height requirement, so anyone can enjoy it!
