Oogie Boogie Bash is returning for the 2026 season at Disney California Adventure. While many of the favorite traditions from years past, including trick-or-treating, remain part of this separately ticketed special event, some of the party will be different this year.
Disneyland shared a first look at two big changes at 2026’s Oogie Boogie Bash ahead of the party season officially starting. Changes at Oogie Boogie Bash for 2026
Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party is back at Disney California Adventure on select nights from August 18 through October 31, 2026. Some dates are already sold out.
New this year is Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party. This will have fewer floats than a full parade, and replaces the party’s previous Frightfully Fun Parade. This change accommodates construction backstage for the park’s upcoming Coco ride. Read more about these ongoing puzzle pieces.

Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake features many familiar characters from the classic Disneyland Haunted Mansion ride, including the ballerina from the stretching room portrait and the hitchhiking ghosts.
It seems that at least one of the Frightfully Fun Parade’s floats is being repurposed for the street party.

The other big change for this year’s Oogie Boogie Bash is the arrival of Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove as a new Villain on one of the party’s treat trails. Yzma is a very rare character at Disney theme parks, and this marks her first appearance at Oogie Boogie Bash.
In light of Yzma’s debut, Yokai from Big Hero 6 will not appear at the 2026 Oogie Boogie Bash.
