Best, Worst, and Ultra-Secret Disneyland Restrooms Revealed in Ranking

Every one of us uses the restrooms across Disneyland during our visits, but very rarely do we discuss the absolute best and worst places for a pit stop in the parks, even among our friends. I decided it was time to dive into the topic that I have avoided for a decade and a half of writing about Disneyland. To put this together we had a lengthy discussion with the Mickey Visit team and asked for opinions from our Facebook audience.

These are the best and worst Disneyland bathrooms, ranked based on the diverse opinions and knowledge of the entire Mickey Visit team, covering all types of restrooms across Disneyland. Plus, some thoughts from the Mickey Visit readers too. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including Disney ending free Lightning Lane access to a top ride after it went viral, and the new Magic Kingdom hotel with views of fireworks.

How We Judge Disneyland Restrooms

Adventureland fountain
Fountain that was added last year in front of the Adventureland restrooms

We looked at a few different criteria when it came to judging Disneyland bathrooms. We took into consideration how much foot traffic takes place at each bathroom, with the higher levels of foot traffic pushing the desirability of the bathroom down a few notches. The busier the bathroom, the less privacy and longer lines! A quiet, undisturbed bathroom is often a hidden gem at Disneyland.

The possibility of long lines is also impacted by the number of stalls in a bathroom; bathrooms with fewer stalls are ranked as some of the worst bathrooms unless they’re hidden enough to not attract too much attention. But we also considered how the vibe and overall theming of a bathroom can escalate it to a Disneyland fan’s favorite bathroom list, even if it’s a popular bathroom spot. There were a few bathrooms that were called out just because of their fun themes.

We’ll start off with the worst Disneyland bathrooms that we avoid at all costs due to their high traffic and lack of comfort, then share the best widely-known Disneyland bathrooms, and then end with a couple of ultra-secret bathrooms that I am worried about even listing due to the currently quiet experience in those spots. The team may need to go into the witness protection program after divulging these secrets. I’ve heard the concern about us revealing secrets in comments on our reels sharing secrets, like these wonderful two secret paths and sitting areas. I hear this concern and even in this article have buried the best hidden restrooms at the bottom of this article in the hope that my personal favorite spots will not go viral.

We also feature some quotes from our readers on Facebook who have strong opinions on this. Some just said they preferred the closest restroom to them at that moment, and others said their favorite was “classified” to protect the information! Many readers went as far as to state, “Not gonna say because I want it all to myself.” Since the topic is a bit personal, we decided to keep commenters’ last names out of the article and went with first names only for the quotes below. If you are someone who left a comment and you would like to have your full name featured please comment below to claim it.

Before we dive into the best and worst Disneyland restrooms, we do want to call out how much we appreciate the Disneyland custodial cast members and the fantastic job they do keeping the restrooms and parks clean. Thank you to that team and the hard work in a difficult job.

Worst Disneyland Bathrooms

Disneyland bathroom

Okay, let’s start with the worst Disneyland bathrooms. These are the bathrooms that are often the most crowded, with long lines, limited stalls, and just general old age that impacts the atmosphere of the bathroom.

Keep in mind that Disneyland has been around since 1955, so some bathrooms may show their age more than others.

Opera House – These restrooms are located to the right-hand side of the Opera House down an alleyway. These bathrooms are super small and always have a long line. These are very old in comparison to other restrooms in the park.

Adventureland Entrance – The restrooms at the entrance of Adventureland, behind the rock work, are known for having super high foot traffic. The women’s restroom is split with stalls on each side, and many times, folks don’t realize there’s a second set of stalls, so always make sure you check for those if there is a line.

Carnation Cafe bathroom

Carnation Cafe– These restrooms are next to the patio of Carnation Cafe, down the alley. These are always packed from the early morning rope drop period to the end of the night as Main Street is always crowded. However, the stalls in the men’s room (potentially the women’s also, but unverified) have these cool little color flags that turn when the stall is vacant or occupied, so that is a fun touch.

New Orleans Square – The restrooms are located right across from the Mint Julep Bar. These are often smelly (just from old age and plumbing, not necessarily cleanliness!) and crowded, and according to Martha S. on Facebook, when listing their favorite Disneyland bathroom, “no one would ever say the one in New Orleans.”

Toontown – The restroom in Mickey’s Toontown is super high traffic, full of kids, and often has very long waits for a changing table. It makes sense because this is the only bathroom in this area, which is an area focused on smaller children, but it’s definitely one of the worst because of the crowds. For an easy other option, head outside to the restroom next to the Fantasyland Theatre and Troubadour Tavern.

Disneyland rancho bathrooms

Rancho Del Zocalo – This bathroom is pretty simple and small. It almost didn’t get a mention on our list, but we had to include it to share this comment from Larry P. on Facebook. Here are his thoughts about the reason why this is his favorite one: “The ones where the toilets shake from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad because the person using them can blame the train for the thunder.” While we don’t love the restroom, it’s on one of our favorite shortcuts to get to Frontierland.

Cars Land – The restrooms in Cars Land, located right by Flo’s Cafe, are some of the worst in the park due to their high crowd levels and long lines, especially if you need to use a changing table. This bathroom faces a similar problem that Toontown has with a high volume of guests constantly trying to use it.

Between Grizzly River Run water wheel and Little Mermaid – This bathroom in Disney California Adventure is always crowded since it’s in a main walkway. Overall, Disney California Adventure has better restrooms options because they are all much newer, which means that only two facilities make the list here.

Mickey & Friends Parking Structure – And for the worst restrooms out of the park, the Mickey & Friend’s Parking Structure bathroom can be a nightmare at the end of the day due to the long crowds. It’s fine in the morning, but try to use the toilet before heading back to your car.

Best Disneyland Restrooms

Disneyland bathrooms

Now, let’s get into some of the best-ranked bathrooms. These bathrooms are beloved not just for their lower crowds but also for their general theming and upkeep. These are some of the best bathrooms for privacy, which is often why they were suggested by some of our readers on Facebook.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in the Black Spire Outpost Market – These restrooms in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, specifically the village ones, are themed and comfortable. I like the village one much more than the other one, which is jammed between buildings closer to the front of the land and seems to have more of a line. Cassie W. on Facebook shared these as her favorite: “Galaxy’s Edge. The only Disneyland bathroom I’ve visited that had warm water coming from the faucet”. Many others also agreed with her opinion. This is also one of the newest restrooms at Disneyland.

Disneyland bathrooms

Alice in Wonderland Bathrooms – These restrooms, located right next to Alice in Wonderland across from the Matterhorn, have wonderful theming, so these were a fan favorite on Facebook. Janice O. said these were her favorite because of the “cuteness of the stall doors.” The stall doors are all themed to different playing cards. You can see one in the image at the top of this article.

Disneyland Tomorrowland Train Station Bathrooms – This was a bathroom that came up in a few comments. James P. on Facebook shared with us, “Bathroom by Tomorrowland Train Station. Nobody knows it’s there. It’s very large and always clean. I used to work in Security, and on crowded days when the Space Mountain exit restrooms had a line out the door, I would invite guests to take a short walk to  the Tomorrowland Train Station RR. Generally, they didn’t believe me and kept their place in line.” This sentiment was also shared by Jennifer T. on Facebook, “My favorite is the Alice bathrooms. But the best? Has to be the ones tucked back by Autopia. Never a line and always empty!”

Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree – The bathrooms on the bottom floor of this restaurant are huge, and there is never a long wait since they’re so spacious. These are convenient bathrooms for drying off after you get soaked on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!

Disneyland grand californian bathroom

Paradise Gardens – Over in Disney California Adventure, the Paradise Gardens bathrooms have a high stall count and never have a long line. A fun touch about these bathrooms is that you can spot the early Disney California Adventure tiling, which is still in place.

Hollywood Land – Also in Disney California Adventure, the Hollywood Land bathrooms are spacious and a convenient spot before rope drop. There is also a fun “Disney conspiracy theory” about the bathroom. This recurring rumor claims that the oddly designed restrooms in Hollywood Land were intentionally influenced by a dislike by Michael Eisner of the stylings of famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The rumor claims that Eisner pushed for unconventional layouts as a subtle jab at Wright’s signature architectural style, resulting in restrooms that have a strange layout in comparison to other restrooms in the park.

Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa – The bathrooms here are notable just because of the elevated nature of this resort hotel. While the restrooms off the main lobby are good, the other two options are even better. Check out the one next to the Tenaya Spa and the one through the automatic doors past the concierge desk. Both bathrooms have great background music.

Ultra Secret Bathrooms

Oh no, these are the bathrooms we are going to reveal that might get us in trouble with our readers! Here are some of the ultra-secret Disneyland bathrooms shared by our readers and based on our own knowledge of the parks.

THIS ITEM REDACTED – After personally consulting my Dad on this article, I have decided to remove what was the first item on this list of the ultra-secret best restrooms at Disneyland. Perhaps it will be revealed in the comments, but I don’t want to be the one to give it away. If there are enough requests perhaps I will share it. It’s really quite lovely. Feels like you are on a tropical vacation.

Tom Sawyer’s Island bathroom – The bathrooms on Tom Sawyer’s Island are about as private and secret as you can get. According to Feliz B. on Facebook, “Tom Sawyer’s Island has a private bathroom that is huge and super comfortable. Super clean.”

First Aid Centers & Baby Care Centers – These facilities are located in both theme parks and include great access to a changing area for kids and even toddler-sized toilets! According to Tom A. on Facebook, “I had 2 infants in diapers. The child/family center was worth the walk to change diapers.”

Carthay Circle Restaurant bathroom – While there are only a few stalls in the Carthay Circle Restaurant bathroom, these are great hidden options. According to Mary C. on Facebook, “For #2, my husband likes the Alice in Wonderland potties, but I’ll go out of my way to get to the Carthay restaurant potties.” They are located on the top floor of the restaurant and lounge for guests dining here.

Disneyland bathrooms

Disneyland Hotel bathrooms – The restrooms in the Disneyland Hotel are usually wonderfully quiet and empty. Our favorite includes the one in the convention center space. You can find a couple of options here. For one, head up the escalator and another down the hallway next to Broken Spell Lounge. The inside of the bathroom has ride posters on the wall!

Club 33 bathrooms – There are no photos allowed in these iconic Club 33 bathrooms, but these would be considered the most luxurious of bathrooms at Disneyland, with the best air conditioning. In fact, Rebel Wilson was banned from Disney for a month for taking photos in here. See our full photo report from inside the exclusive Club 33.

Magic Key Terrace – Inside the Disneyland Annual Pass Holders-only restaurant, the Magic Key Terrace, there are some comfortable restrooms that are rarely crowded. This is located on the second floor of the Wine Country Trattoria in Disney California Adventure. Check out our review of the overhauled menu here.

Double BONUS Secret Bathroom – Indiana Jones Adventure has a secret bathroom built after the ride opened, with such long lines for those who get all the way to the end of the line and then really need to go. It is basically backstage, but this is one of only two rides with their own dedicated restrooms. This is truly ONLY for emergencies! Located down the hallway by the handicapped elevator. It’s so far away that after I asked to use it seven years ago for research, I regretted it due to it clearly being just for emergencies. Don’t ask to use this one, but it’s fun to know it is there.

What do you think of our ranking of the best, worst, and ultra-secret bathrooms at Disneyland? What restrooms would you add to this list? Do you disagree with any of our rankings?
