It’s not uncommon to see a greater number of closures at Disneyland throughout the first few months of the year before the busy Spring Break season. We already have a handful of active closures at the parks, and now another has been added to the calendar for a popular roller coaster.

New Disneyland Park Closure Added
A new closure has just been added to the Disneyland refurbishment calendar for Space Mountain. Space Mountain is scheduled to close from February 23, 2026, through February 26, 2026. It will reopen on February 27.

This is a relatively short closure, unlike the longer multi-week one that is currently wrapping up for Disney California Adventure’s Incredicoaster. We assume that this is standard work for the ride to make sure it’s running smoothly, especially ahead of the return of Hyperspace Mountain in April, which always brings higher demand.
While this closure will not last long, it notably overlaps with the Rise of the Resistance closure, meaning that two major Disneyland Park thrill rides will be simultaneously closed. At the time of writing, that ride does not yet have a reopening date listed on the calendar.
Space Mountain is one of the most highly-demanded rides at the park and a popular option for many guests at Disneyland rope drop in the morning. With the recent elimination of Early Entry, Disney just changed how rope drop works at Disneyland, as it put all guests on equal playing fields for getting on popular attractions with shorter waits.

With both Rise of the Resistance and Space Mountain closed, you can expect to see a greater demand for other thrill rides like Indiana Jones Adventure, both in the morning and throughout the rest of the day. Indiana Jones Adventure already sells out of Lightning Lane return times quickly, but you can expect this to be even more the case during the closure of Space Mountain. There are a few other closures happening during this period at the parks that share some overlap with the short Space Mountain refurbishment. At Disneyland Park, the Jungle Cruise will be closed for refurbishment starting February 17, and over at Disney California Adventure, Grizzly River Run will be closed for its seasonal refurbishment. There will also be a short closure for Jumpin’ Jellyfish happening during this timeframe.
