The Universal Kids Resort in Texas will have six themed lands featuring rides, interactive shows, character meet-and-greets, and more, all geared toward kids. The resort will also include a themed onsite 300-room hotel.

One of the lands at Universal Kids Resort is DreamWorks' Shrek, which invites visitors to “stomp, ride, laugh, and play” in a playground themed to Shrek's swamp. This looks like it will be similar to the Shrek area in the new Universal Orlando DreamWorks Land that recently opened at Universal Studios Florida.

The next land is themed to Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants, where “SpongeBob and friends cannot wait to show you around their neighborhood under the sea.” When the concept art for the park was first revealed, there was a lot of excitement when fans spotted areas that seemed to resemble the Krusty Krab and SpongeBob's pineapple house. Now the SpongeBob theme has been confirmed!

There will be a land themed to Illumination’s Minions, in which the Minions have taken over a vacation retreat. Universal describes how “when Yellow Minions attempt to rein in their Purple counterparts, it leads to a wave of unpredictable, water-soaked fun.”

Next up, there will be a land themed to Jurassic World, where kids are invited to explore and come face to face with the Jurassic World dinosaurs “in uniquely exciting and interactive ways.”

There will also be a land themed to DreamWorks' Trolls, where guests are “invited to the most colorful, most joy-filled, and, of course, most glittery music festival of all time!”

In the DreamWorks' Puss in Boots land, “the kitty adoption drive is in full swing with colorful decorations, sideshow games, fun rides and festive food.”
