Universal Expands Epic Universe Theme Park Previews to All Guests

Universal Orlando’s new Epic Universe theme park is currently in previews ahead of the official opening date of the theme park next month.

Up until this point the previews have only been open to a select group that included Universal Orlando Annual Passholders and Universal hotel guests. Now, the previews are opening up to all guests. See details below.

Universal Orlando Opens Epic Universe Previews to All Guests

Starting today, tickets for Universal Orlando Epic Universe previews are now open to all. Anyone can purchase a one day ticket to the theme park previews.

Universal described this experience – Don’t miss this unique opportunity to take part in a special preview before the May 22, 2025 Grand Opening of Universal Orlando Resort’s newest theme park. During this Preview period, we’re putting the final touches in place and rehearsing, so some attractions and experiences may not be available. Limited availability, tickets available on a first-come, first-served basis. Restrictions apply. Prices vary by day, plus tax.

Tickets are currently on sale for previews from April 29 – May 19, 2025. The prices for these now general public previews range from $144 on most weekdays to $154 on Saturdays.

Interestingly, the announcement of the general public sale has caused an increase in visible demand on the tickets purchasing page. There is now a virtual line in place to purchase these tickets. I didn’t anticipate that there would be that much of a demand bump for opening these tickets up to the general public as it felt like anyone who was truly interested in adding on an Epic Universe visit that wasn’t an Annual Passholder would have paid the “tax” of one hotel room night at a Universal Orlando hotel in order to visit. Perhaps we are seeing some Walt Disney World guests now grab on to this in order to add one day at Epic Universe to their existing vacation without needing a hotel night.

I already visited Epic Universe during this preview period as a hotel guest. I was thrilled with the experience seeing the theme park. During my preview day, which you can read a full report about here, the theme park was blissfully easy to navigate with low crowds. We anticipate that crowds will continue to increase in the coming weeks as we get closer to the official theme park opening date. Also read my ranking of the best Epic Universe rides here.

We know that there has already been increases in capacity for theme park previews since the first preview day that we attended. Early on they have regulated attendance quite a bit, but with the announcement today it sure feels like they are really opening up the park now to test out functioning at the higher actual capacity.
