There is no confirmed opening date for Disneyland yet aside from late 2024. We discuss here the likely Splash Mountain reopening date to be turned into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure for Disneyland. Since Walt Disney World began work on the new attraction sooner, this is why their version is opening first.

The opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure joins the lineup of other exciting events at Walt Disney World this summer including the brand new Encanto show debuting at EPCOT and the opening of the new CommuiCore Plaza & Hall.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Retheme

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will pick up where the film The Princess and the Frog ends. This story tells the tale of Tiana’s success after opening her own restaurant and the adventures she had after.

The ride will follow Tiana through the bayou as she locates a necessary “missing ingredient” for her big Mardi Gras celebration. The missing ingredient turns out to be music which is a key component of any Mardi Gras celebration! Guests will encounter a band of brand new Disney characters created just for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure as they join Princess Tiana and Louis on a hunt for music for their Mardi Gras celebration.

There is a huge lineup of brand new audio-animatronics coming to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure which include more than 17 new characters along with a Louis audio-animatronic and multiple Princess Tiana audio-animatronics.

The music in the ride incorporates various musical styles connected to New Orleans featuring Zydeco music which is a blend of rhythm and blues that originated in Louisiana. One of the songs featured in this ride includes a rendition of “Gonna Take You There” from the “Princess and the Frog” film. This Zydeco musical take on this classic song features the fiddle, accordion, washboard, and other instrument voices that guests will enjoy as they float down the river under “dancing fireflies.” There is also a brand new original score coming to the attraction created by Grammy Award-winning musician and New Orleans native PJ Morton.

The exterior redesign of Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure transformed the attraction visually with bright colors, greenery, flowers, and a Tiana’s Foods water tower.

And of course, the ride still includes the thrilling log drop into the water below and all the same thrilling ride elements.
