Disneyland will schedule routine refurbishments for its attractions throughout the year to do any necessary maintenance and install holiday overlays for seasonal celebrations. A new closure has now been added to the refurbishment calendar ahead of the holiday celebration at Disneyland. Keep reading for everything you need to know!

New Disneyland Ride Closure Added
A new closure for Disneyland's “it's a small world” is now visible on the Disneyland refurbishment calendar. The closure will start on October 30, 2025. On the attraction's page on the website, it confirms that the ride will be reopening on November 14 for the kickoff of the Christmas celebration at Disneyland.

They will use this time to put up the “it's a small world Holiday” overlay, which features holiday decor and songs added to the ride, as well as thousands of stunning lights on the facade. This is the main holiday overlay at the park, along with the popular Haunted Mansion Holiday, which got an unexpected change this year that you can read about here.
The ride was previously closed for a two-part, extended refurbishment, which happened in two blocks of time before and after last year's holiday celebration. The ride closed in January and was unavailable for several months, with the closure date extended twice. At the time the closure was originally delayed, Disneyland shared with us that sometimes further work is needed for an older attraction like this one.
“it's a small world” reopened on May 13, right before the kickoff of the Disneyland 70th anniversary celebration, with Miguel and Dante from Coco added to the ride. A few months later, for Disneyland's actual anniversary date, a new final verse was added to the finale scene of the ride.

There are also a few other rides currently closed for refurbishment at Disneyland Park, including Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Casey Jr. Circus Train, and Storybook Land Canal Boats. There was recently a change to the reopening status of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad that you can read about here. Over at Disney California Adventure, the Radiator Springs Racers closure continues, and Goofy's Sky School and Mickey's PhilharMagic are also closing for refurbishment in the coming weeks.
