Disneyland Classic Attraction Reopening Delayed For Second Time – Here Is When It’s Reopening.

Some attractions and experiences are currently closed for refurbishment as the Disneyland Resort gears up for its 70th anniversary celebration that starts next week. Amongst these current closures is a classic ride that has been closed for several months. We recently got the news that this reopening date had been pushed back for a couple of weeks longer than expected, and now we are seeing that this has been delayed a second time.

Disneyland Ride Reopening Pushed Back

Disneyland’s “it’s a small world” ride has been closed for a few months now as part of extended maintenance that took place in two blocks of time before and after the holiday celebration. It has been closed since late January and was initially supposed to open on April 25, but the reopening date was pushed back a couple of weeks, and now it has been delayed a few days further. The new reopening date for “it’s a small world” is now May 13, according to the Disneyland calendar.

As we shared in our previous article reporting the initial reopening delay, reopening dates are always a rough estimate, and sometimes, there is more work than anticipated needed for an older attraction like this. The ride is still reopening ahead of the official Disneyland 70th anniversary start date, which is May 16.

When the ride returns on May 13, it will feature new characters! Miguel and Dante from Coco will be appearing as part of the Mexico area in the attraction. Later in the summer, for the 70th anniversary celebration, the ride will feature a new third verse in its iconic “It’s a Small World” song in honor of Disney Legend Richard Sherman.
