New Float Revealed For Disney World Starlight Nighttime Parade, But Still No Opening Date Announced

Disney just revealed a new float for their upcoming Starlight Parade nighttime parade coming to Magic Kingdom this summer. Other new floats and the parade's poster were just revealed recently.

The reveal comes after the parade opening date was NOT announced along with the opening of the other two new shows coming to Disney World this summer. We are closely covering this new parade.

New Starlight Parade Float Just Revealed

Today Disney revealed a new float for the upcoming Magic Kingdom nighttime parade. The parade will be called “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away”. The new float will be themed to the movie Wish and will have room for the main character of that movie, Asha. The float also features the goat, named Valentino, from the movie.

Initially we anticipated that this new parade would debut at the end of May as part of the kickoff of summer at Walt Disney World. We also saw it as the most effective counter programming against the new Universal Epic Universe theme park that opens on May 22, 2025.

Now, the parade is slated to open “later this summer”. We don't believe that Disney would be not giving us a date if they knew that the parade was going to only open a few weeks after the other shows opening for the summer. It's more likely that the parade will either be debuting sometime in late June or later or that Disney doesn't yet even have the date that they are going to launch this new parade. Hopefully we will get more clarity in the coming weeks.

We sure hope that this parade is finished up sooner than later, but know that mounting a nighttime parade with new floats takes a lot of time. The parade was first announced last August at the D23 fan event. Since then we've learned more about the parade. We know that the parade will feature other beloved characters and films including floats based on Coco, Cinderella, Frozen, Peter Pan, and the Blue Fairy.

As always, we would definitely prefer for Disney to not rush something out the door when it is half-baked but we are definitely a little bit disappointed that we don't have a firm opening date yet.
