Medicine at Disneyland

Pioneer Mercantile at Disneyland

You can find over the counter medicine at Disneyland, California Adventure and in Downtown Disney. The medicine is all kept behind the counter so it's out of sight from guests. This is often why people don't realize you can find medicine at Disneyland! Just go up to the cast member working in the store and ask them what they have. You can usually find things like pain reliever along with medicine for stomach upset, allergies, cough/cold, etc. You will pay a much higher price for this over the counter medicine at Disneyland compared to a typical drugstore but it's great to know if you're in a pinch!

Here are all the stores that carry over the counter medicine at Disneyland:

Disneyland

The Emporium, Main Street U.S.A.

The Market House, Main Street U.S.A

The Star Trader, Tomorrowland

Pioneer Mercantile, Frontierland

California Adventure

Elias & Co., Buena Vista Street

Julius Katz & Sons, Buena Vista Street

Knick’s Knacks, Pixar Pier

Downtown Disney

The World of Disney

All of the stores listed above should have over the counter medicine near the register, you just need to ask the cast members working. You can usually buy an entire bottle of medicine or travel sized packs. This option is great in a pinch if you don't want to leave the parks to find a drugstore or go back to your hotel room to get medicine.

First Aid at Disneyland

Disneyland Baby Care Center

You can also seek out the First Aid locations at Disneyland if you need assistance. First Aid can offer you single doses of medicine, for free along with any further assistance in a nice, cool air-conditioned environment. You can find the First Aid in Disneyland at the end of Main Street, U.S.A. next to the Baby Care Center and next to the Chamber of Commerce on Buena Vista Street in California Adventure.

The First Aid Centers have nurses that are available to offer over the counter medicine, bandages and other quick remedies for guests. First Aid centers can also store any medicine you need to be refrigerated!

Can You Bring Medicine into Disneyland?

Disneyland Main Street USA

Yes, you can bring your own medicine into the park. Some guests may worry about accuracy of labels, names, etc. on prescription medicine bottles when going through Disneyland security but they won't pay attention to any of those details in most scenarios.

I've traveled many times with various medicines in my bag (prescription to over the counter) and never been questioned when going through security. I typically put all our medicine in a travel container so it fits easier in my park bag and I've never had security question me for it.

You can read more about medicine and accessibility in our guide to guests with disabilities.  You can read more about what food you can bring into Disneyland.
