Additional Costs to Consider

LEGOLAND California ticket prices additional costs to consider

While LEGOLAND California ticket prices will make up a significant part of your trip’s expenses, there are also some other costs to consider during your vacation like hotels, parking, dining, souvenirs, and more. Some of these are larger expenses, while others are smaller ones that can add up if you're not careful.

We'll discuss some of these additional costs to consider below aside from the LEGOLAND California ticket prices.

Parking: If you are renting a car or driving for a day trip to LEGOLAND from out of the area, you'll want to consider the cost of theme park parking. See parking prices below:

  • Cars: $35
  • Campers/RVs starting from: $40
  • Motorcycles: $35
  • Preferred Parking Starting from: $40
  • Day Valet: $70

Hotels: Where you will stay is another cost consideration for your LEGOLAND California trip. There are two immersive LEGOLAND Hotels, the LEGOLAND Hotel and LEGOLAND Castle Hotel, which are located just steps away from the LEGOLAND California Park entrance, as well as options for staying off-site.

The LEGOLAND Hotel offers five unique room themes (pirate-themed, adventure-themed, kingdom-themed, LEGO friends-themed, and LEGO NINJAGO-themed) as well as a heated resort-style outdoor pool, free hot breakfast, separate kids' sleeping area, nightly kids' entertainment, and in-room treasure hunt.

The LEGOLAND Castle Hotel has three room types including royal princess theme, magic wizard theme, and knights & dragons theme, as well as outdoor play zones for kids including an outdoor movie screen and a castle-themed play structure, “knightly entertainment” exclusive for hotel guests in the Royal Courtyard, and more.

There are also hotels in the surrounding Carlsbad area you can choose from, like the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa and The Cassara Carlsbad, Tapestry Collection by Hilton within walking distance of LEGOLAND.

Dining: Dining is another cost you will want to consider during your vacation. There is a variety of dining options at LEGOLAND, including food stands and restaurants.

While some guests might choose to bring their own food to locations like Disneyland, LEGOLAND's food policy is a little bit different. LEGOLAND allows bottled water, small snacks that don't require heating/refrigeration, any food required for medical purposes, medically-indicated nutritional supplements, food required for specific dietary needs, and baby food/baby formula. While you can't bring a full-on meal to LEGOLAND, you can save money on dining by bringing small snacks, eating breakfast outside of the parks, finding cheap but filling meals, or splitting meals with other members of your party.

Souvenirs: Lastly, souvenirs are a cost that can add up quickly during your trip. The LEGOLAND California Resort offers shopping options for LEGO toys, apparel, and more at locations like Big Shop, Brick Brothers Trading Co., Wu's Warehouse, and more. To avoid overspending, you can save on this area of your trip by purchasing souvenirs in advance of your visit for a cheaper price, establishing a souvenir budget, or making a point to only buy souvenirs on the last day of your trip to avoid any impulsive purchases.
