We got in touch with the hotel to learn more about the impacts of the renovation work and what we can expect to see when it is all completed.

Hotel Across From Disneyland Improvements
One of our favorite hotels within walking distance of Disneyland is getting a renovation that will update several different aspects of the property. The Fairfield Inn, located right across the street at about a 7-minute walk from the entrances of the parks, is one of the best affordable hotels near Disneyland. This is an even quicker walk to the park entrances than some of the on-property hotels. The hotel has Disney-inspired guest rooms with Smart TVs and free Wi-Fi, as well as other amenities like a pool area, fitness center, onsite laundry, and a convenience store.
The walk to Disneyland is super straightforward, as you simply take a left on Harbor Boulevard, then proceed to the Harbor Boulevard entrance. The closeness to the parks is a huge benefit for getting to Disneyland early for rope drop and enjoying a quick and painless walk back at the end of the day. It’s also ideal to have a hotel so close by for a mid-day break.
A new permit was just filed for improvements to this property. The permit submitted includes:
Tenant Improvement: 7,288 sq. ft. to reconfigure first floor lobby and market. 5,743 sq. ft. to reconfigure third floor kitchen, breakfast room, breakroom and fitness center. 148,669 sq. ft. to remodel (467) guestrooms. Here’s what we learned about the improvements at the Fairfield Anaheim when we reached out to them for comment. They shared with Mickey Visit, “We are also very excited about our full hotel renovation, we will be going into guest rooms, lobby, and our third floor.”

They said that they are expected to have the guest rooms completed by the end of summer 2026.
They noted that the lobby and third floor should be completed by the end of fall. Once the third floor is completed, they will start serving complimentary breakfast. They haven’t shared the full extent of what will be included with the free breakfast.
They didn’t share any information on the expected impacts to the guests staying at the hotel during the construction or if this has already been shared with guests staying here. The addition of free breakfast is a big upgrade and perk for guests staying here. Staying at a hotel near Disneyland with free breakfast is a great way to save money on this aspect of your trip, and it’s even more valuable to stay at a hotel with this perk that is only minutes away from the entrance of the parks.
The rooms are comfortable enough right now, but will benefit from an update to bring in a more modern style and new technology. We have stayed here before and rate this as a great option for a comfortable room experience with great access to the parks.
Another great benefit of Fairfield Inn’s positioning, adjacent to the castle and the Matterhorn, is that some rooms give you a view of the fireworks. All guests can step out their doors and go up to the top floor to see the view.
One note for the design team. In their last room design, they used colorful Disney photos. This aesthetic is fun to get families excited for their park day, but true Disney fans immediately spotted that some of the Disney destinations featured were not in Anaheim. In the room photo above, you may or may not have noticed that the image on the far left of the collage is actually of the Mad Tea Party in Walt Disney World.
That wouldn’t be worth a mention on its own. The other current room design features a colorful wall of photos, one photo is of Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World (or Tokyo Disney) and the other is of the Earful Tower at the Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris (soon to be renamed). Disney fans notice things like this. Let’s avoid that in the next room design. I’d be happy to be a consultant. Give me a call, Fairfield team!
Update – We just heard from the Fairfield Inn team and they shared they are already at work on this and are getting new approved art work that will be going into the rooms.
We’re looking forward to seeing the completed renovation at the Fairfield Inn! The changes should just make this great hotel an even better option for Disneyland guests.
