5. Disney’s All Star Sports Resort
Disney’s All Star Sports Resort has the lowest star rating on Yelp at 3 out of 5 stars. This resort is typically the least expensive option out of all the Disney World resort hotels, which most reviewers voice as a positive benefit. Many of the negative reviews focus primarily on how often the larger sports and cheer groups make it feel busier during competition seasons. Other negative comments also voice how the sports theme isn’t broadly appealing compared to some of the other themed resorts.

I can understand the negative reviews when it comes to the large crowds, especially if you stay at the resort during a sports competition and are not prepared for it. The sports theme also feels a bit niche for some audiences, so those are all assessments I agree with as they are quite reasonable criticisms!
4. Disney’s All Star Music Resort
Disney’s All Star Music Resort is frequently described as the quietest out of all the All Star Resorts, which is a huge bonus for guests looking for a quiet experience. More positive reviews also voice the benefit of it being the only All Star resort with family suites. Despite those positive comments, the rating for this resort falls at 3 stars out of 5, with many negative comments pointing out that the music theme is too niche and boring.
I would disagree with the critiques on the music theming, as there is still plenty of Disney charm in the theme, especially with the inclusion of fun characters like The Three Caballeros. There’s still plenty of Disney charm if you look for it, so I wouldn’t count out this resort just for theming.
3. Disney’s All Star Movies Resort
Disney’s All Star Movies Resort is the most popular among the three All Star resorts with the highest rating of 3.1 out of 5 stars on Yelp. The strong Disney movie theming at this resort is appealing and very popular with families. Many of the reviews note how much they love the theming of this resort hotel.
While critiques focus on bus-only transportation, the reviews note they prefer it over Music and Sports. Multiple reviews recommend booking a preferred room and “try to ask for the Fantasia area of the property” because of its great location. The strongest negative reviews focused on the food options, citing the food court as low-quality food.
I agree with all the positive commentary about Disney’s All Star Movies Resort, and it’s understandable why the theming is so popular. As for the critiques, I disagree when it comes to the food. While the food isn’t going to be the same as what you get at a deluxe hotel sit-down restaurant, it’s perfectly fine for families, even if it’s pretty average American-style options.
2. Disney’s Pop Century Resort
Disney’s Pop Century Resort comes in at 3.3 out of 5 on Yelp reviews, with many reviews noting that this resort offers the best overall value. Many commenters also call out that it’s less expensive than Disney’s Art of Animation but yet offers the same transportation benefits like access to the Disney Skyliner.
Other positive reviews call out the nice rooms with the queen beds and the fun, nostalgic theming. Most of the negative reviews focus on the noise, especially calling out the thinness of the walls and being able to hear guests walking by.
This is my favorite Disney World resort, so I agree with the positive reviews, especially about the Disney Skyliner access for a more affordable price. The smaller size of the resort is another perk I would call out, as you are within easy walking distance regardless of where you are located. As for the negative, I think the noise is a fair assessment, as the value resorts are all motel style, which makes it hard to eliminate outside noise.
1. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is the top-ranked value resort hotel with a ranking of 3.7 out of 5 stars on Yelp. Many reviewers call out this resort as having the most immersive Disney theming out of the other hotels. The family suites also receive especially high praise, along with the access to the Disney Skyliner. Most of the negative reviews focus largely on the higher price, especially for those popular family suites.
I agree with the assessment of the negative reviews, as the cost of the family suites can easily push the pricing of this hotel into the moderate category. The positive reviews make great points, especially when it comes to the immersive Disney theming, but I disagree about it being the top resort of the Disney World value resorts. That top pick, in my opinion, goes to Disney’s Pop Century Resort due to its unique theming but also its positive atmosphere since it’s the top favorite in the Disney adult community.
