Disneyland Update! New Entrance Open, Haunted Mansion Construction, Halloween Merchandise, and More

This week at the tail end of summer at Disneyland, temperatures are finally cooling down and the Halloween celebration is in full swing at the resort.

A couple of weeks ago, we shared a look at the reopened Critter Country and construction for Tiana's Bayou Adventure and the Haunted Mansion. This week, we have a look at some construction going on at Disneyland, a Downtown Disney security entrance opened, and more.

Disneyland Railroad Station on Main Street Under Construction

The Disneyland Railroad Station at Main Street is currently under construction as the Disneyland Railroad is closed for refurbishment. Guests can still take a photo with the Halloween floral Mickey, but there will be some construction and scaffolding in the background.

Haunted Mansion Retail Shop Construction

The Haunted Mansion has reopened, but construction for the grounds expansion is still ongoing. Work continues on the Haunted Mansion retail shop adjacent to the attraction's exit, and we can now see the structure of the building starting to take shape.

The shop will be the “carriage house of the mansion” belonging to Madame Leota. See the concept art for what the finished product will look like below!

It took over an hour to get into the Mickey and Friends parking structure today. We are guessing that with the heatwave from earlier this week finally having subsided, people are wanting to come to the parks again.

Temperatures have finally cooled back down into the 70s after reaching nearly 100 degrees for the past few days.

 

New Disneyland Halloween Merchandise

New Security Entrance in Downtown Disney

A new security entrance has opened in Downtown Disney adjacent to Din Tai Fung. This is in the same spot as the older security entrance. This is right in front of the Disneyland Hotel. A larger security entrance recently opened a few months ago near the Simba Parking Lot.

When we first reported that Disney was working on an additional hotel gate for Downtown Disney, they had originally said it would be a private entrance for hotel guests. However, there is no hotel key required to use this entrance, and it is available to all guests.
